How poseable is he still?

What a shame, but I will wait for the animation.

The reason I asked is that quite a few of us have been pushing some zsphere limits on this thread, and you are welome to participate.

Did you try to make a normalmap in Cinema? I still have to try it.

Hi quentin, I really like this insect-man-thing, mostspecially the head, really great design! Where did you get the idea for so many nostrils ( if they are nostrils ? :slight_smile: ).

If your looking to work on it further the defenition of the legs, most prominently, could use some work - the forms are somewhat equivocal - can’t really decide where is the bone - where is the muscle, or if its a exo-skeleton. Same goes for the knees.

Bas: i never have tried to make a normal map in cinema4d, but zmapper works great! i have no touched the settings for now, and just created the normal in zb and applied to the luminance channel in c4d… i test now the 9.5 demo :grimacing:
they have added a normal channel! :sunglasses:

Kircho: yes they are nostrils, for the idea really i don’t know…eheh usually i open ZBrush and i begin create something…i never use reference.
for the Legs you are right, i want to mix exo-skeleton with muscles but i have to finish working on it…:wink:

Today I made a normalmap in C4D 9.5 and it’s working PERFECT! Almost no difference between the displacementmap- and the normalmap render.

No, just imported an object with a displacementmap made in ZB and made the normalmap in C4D.

Hi quentin77,

Can you explain to me how you did the export with the normal map?
I tried it today, but without any good result.
The normal map is just not good mapped on the object.
Even a simple sphere won’t show upcorrect.
it looks like the uvw-map is good.
I use the great riptide plugin for im/export OBJ files.

And your alien looks Super. So it is possible. Only if I know how…

I use C4d R9.5 and of course Zbrush.

If you have a problem with the normalmap, you can make one in C4D.
Sometimes C4D gives dogkicking problems :slight_smile:

Thanks RichArt!:slight_smile: First you have to flip vertically all maps created in ZB.
In C4D9.5 you have a material channel for Normals, usually i load my map and switch method from Tangent to Object.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I have it working right now.
I did the 2 things you wrote wrong.
I flipped the texture horizontal and I set the normal-map to tangent.

Now with the texture flipped vertical and the normal-map set to object it works great.
Now I need only some model skills within Zbrus. LOL.

PS: Nothing wrong with your English. My english is not that good to.
