yes-!! you are right, That would work perfict for Pegasus… The horse with the wings on the Back of it…That what you are used to seeing…It’s not a real creature to have as a guide line to0
But the Islamic Buraq is a totally different creature, it’s said that the Godly creature has wings but coming out of it’s hind legs … some even say that it has a head of a lady… it looks at the skyline where the sky touches, and touches it with it’s hoofs to be there… so distance is a different concept, It’s an animal that was created for that one night as to my understanding. so It’s not my Idea were things go… and it is not a myth!!!.. but a religious story like any other story…I never so it… and don’t know how it looks like other then the few descriptions said…But hope that it helps you imagine and understand one of our many stories in Islam
also Big thanks to you for bringing up this important question… it helps to explain these things more ;), It seems that I have forgotten that this is not the story of Profit Noah and the Ark, everyone knows that story…so no need to explain too much about it…
Very excellent work bros.
but the story tells also that he had firy hair in his lower-leg part
but whatever its very close to reality, like if u were there and u saw him
congratulation.
Hey Khalid! To be completely honest with you - your brothers in faith once were close to blow me out of this world [London attack - I was going to job that day and I am damn lucky that I am always late ]. However your job is amazing and I really wish so Islam can have such CREATIVE influence on all his followers instead of… well - you surely get a point, don’t you…
As for the work - arabic kind of letters are really beautiful - maybe you can use it as some kind of ornaments here and there. Just idea for future work or smth… Keep up creativity!
Wow, this is very beautiful! For some reason, it would seem to make a good book cover for a fantasy novel. You really captured a dreamy quality to it.
As for the story of Al Buraq… well, I think that maybe it is not literal. I’m sure that there is a high level of romanticising or misinterpretation. You know how stories can get distorted over time. Still, I love the fantasy element anyway.
Explaining more I think will help, It seems that I have forgotten that this is not the story of Profit Noah and the Ark, everyone knows that story…so no need to explain too much about it.
The Islamic Buraq is a totally different creature then Pegasus, it’s said that the Godly creature has wings but coming out of it’s hind legs … some even say that it has a head of a lady… it looks at the skyline where the sky touches, and touches it with it’s hoofs to be there… so distance is a different concept, It’s an animal that was created for that one night as to my understanding. so It’s not my Idea were things go… and it is not a myth!.. but a religious story like any other story…I never so it… and don’t know how it looks like other then the few descriptions said…But hope that it helps you imagine and understand one of our many stories in Islam.
Before The profit went thru this incredible & honoring Journey, he had to be prepared by Gabriel to be able to endure the shocking experience that he was about to encounter, for he will be going were no Human has set foot on yet…meeting our creator.
Al-Buraq was the creature that was created to help The profit to travel on earth, but when he reach his final destination (AL-Quds), He was lifted to the heavens with The Angel Gabriel help, he was lifted into 7 levels of heavens, from the first to the highest, …also he so Hell… then Met all the profits before him … all the Angels… and finally the Honor of meeting our creator God.
The journey was in a different realm of time, it’s said that his time was stretched in comparison to earth time, when he finally descended back to earth, it was only a few hours that he was missing, Al-Buraq would still wait for him to complete it’s purpose, thats where we’re at with this image here.
Thanks everyone for your nice words… and Still happy to here all your fun comments.:):):):)
Beautiful and very solid piece, absolutely nothing for me to nitpick, you nailed it as usual. Did you use the same horse model that you used in your silver unicorn? Just curious.
lol-- your depiction has me tinkering with how flank muscles could be plausibly rearranged to anchor a wing-- (hehe, I have a similar impulse for most dragon wings I see!)
What a incredible piece. I must agree with skinnybonez the location of the wings seems strange. I can see relationship thing happening in there current location with the tail. However if the attachement was made more substaintail(say where the first feathers start), and moved forward( so if you grabbed the horse by the wings, it would seem balanced) It might appeal to more.
