A Zmation

I Just Got Zbrush 2 today, and its so freaking FANTASTIC. It doesnt have any animation BUT it has potential. I wanted to experiment so i did an animated Zsphere…mation. the animation is choppy but its only a test. Imagine if this baby had a timeline.

hehe
great idea

i like it

ooooh, i would kill for a timeline! looks great! I vaguely remember though, it was mentioned that this is not a goal of ZB development. Might have to do with technical barriers the canvas approach implies… or not… or my memory

Welcome.

It’s totally doable now if you understand Stop-Motion animation form. Utilize scripts of your actions and script for repeated poses and if you work from a base ‘templant’ then all your characters can have the actions applied.

Make sure you check out the zsphere thread before getting to far along to save yourself from some headaches.

Thanks Jason, will read up on that link.

It would be nice to have onion skinning though. You probably would need to work in layers and have one layer with a mark on it for registration. That way you can align your object each time and than save the document as a bmp. Kind of a painful way to do it though.

As womball suggested, just use a Marker to know where your last pose/scale/rotation was, then remove it and place your new one. As for onion skinning, easy, just leave the last image in the screen as ou work on the new one. Then just clear the layer and render for the new image. Quite fast and controllable process.
