A Zbrush Animation Project

Hi everyone, and thanks to all.

To wenna - Hi little lady artist, now we are 3: you, vivien and me. Let me know when you post more work. I will be visiting your thread in the future. Smaller community needs bigger support.

To vlad74 - This is a big honer. I saw your artwok, and I think a absolute professinal was visiting my thread. Your support is exactly what every artist - like me - needs. Thank you very much for your nice words of support.

To pixelsoul - thanks for such a good reference.

I used models from a body building magazine, but no model heading front and side view, what I wished for. So I ended up building the model not on one particular person. But know I can clearly see, given by your image, how the arms bend near to the chest. very complex. I will have to invent a way to make the arms bend in the right way as well as not cut through the body, but not on this model. The next character will be a full body model.

After a bit conceptualizing and testing out, I finally got around working on the HEAD from before. As you can see, with a quite different look now. This is big time progress work, nothing finished here, work in it’s modeling-baby steps. Still my first Zbrush model, did not do anything of this kind before.

PS: I went to Siggraph 2005, and have met many friends from my previous working places. Totally unexpectedly I saw a friend of mine, who is a VERY GOOD video and sound editor and a working animal! He has now joined me in this animation project. Once what was - a one man project - is now - a two man - project. Great!

Directing, 3D (story, conceptualizing, modeling,…animation) and compositing will be mine area, whereas he will be mainly working on editing and music assembly. Now I am quite sure this project will be sooner finished than I initialy expected.

First Zbrush model
- THE HEAD
- work in progress
- modeling stage; lower part of the body finished
- Zspheres
- lighting/rendering Maya

To come: finish modeling finish texturing create morph targets rigging animation tests [![HEAD_progress_1_ZBC_11.jpg|648x864](upload://aTM55HrKxzL3Z5fTXoPBFRDeWL2.jpeg)]

Hahahaha I beat you by three weeks rofl

http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=27228

That is funny. Almost the same concept. I am also working on the animation but have the sound finished for my clip.

Good luck and I am really curious how i turns out in the end!
LemonNado

Hi there!
Nice to visit my thread.

I have to admit that I don’t see much similarity. I have just a face in front of a muscle system. You have a whole body disappearing in ground. Thanks for support and I wish you very much luck.

wonderful this latest pic!!
congratulations, very very good concept!!!

fantastic the last one !!
keep it up !
:sunglasses: :+1:

My WIP is about a ring of disks floating around a center, slowly the figures emerge from the disks, start chanting, and a ‘surprise’ forms in the center of the ring of spheres. It’s a relatively simple scene.

I was only refering to the fact that we both used metal effects to show our WIP’s :D.

Your sculpture is much more sophisticated than mine. I only have 6 bones in my otherwise rigid ‘structure’… More for posing than for anything else.

I am already thrilled to see your result.

Cheers

I am sorry not answering immediatly, but my head landed on the keyboard, after a exosting Zbrushy night.

Very nice of you visisting my thread. Pinkarman - a big thanks for coming back. Your words mean a lot to me. Send the best wishes to you beautiful country Italy, which I have visisted so often.

I understood it differently, but now I agree that the idea of metal texturing is very much the same. This texture I just used for presentation. The skin will keep a bit of metal identity once it is finished, something similare to oily skin.

"Quoting [lemonnado](http://member.php?u=36730):

Wow - extraordinary idea. This sounds like very much work and very difficult work. You almost don't need any bones, but just defomers, because of the constant fluid motion, what I assume in your animation will be. Perhaps just when the arms appear, there you could introduce bone based movement. As much you are curious how my work develops, so much I am sure your work will be most original and very well done. Thanks again to everyone!

I really cant wait to see it.

great great great! i’m waiting for more GIRL!

vlad74
Hi dear Vlad. I will do my best finishing it, and let me know when you post something new. I would like to be the first one posting on your thread. I am most curious to see more of your incredible work. I very often think about the image EVOLUTION. It is burned in my mind, so powerful it is.

vivien
Dear Vivien. Thank you very much for your wonderful support. The model is by far not finished, but I am curious too will I be able to make it look like I wish. But even if not, I will not be able to repeat anything - there is just simply no time for a second try. Thank you very much.

Suzana, really thanx for the replies here and on my WIP…
you’re making me blush, Suzie…

Here is a new update.
I am just partially done with modeling of the body and still didn’t have time working on the face (sorry for the rendering without perspective, have issues with the distortion factor.)

Once this is done, I will overgo into texturing. Cannot wait to be finished with Zbrush for this character and start another one.

THE HEAD - no perspective used - Work in progress - Zspheres - rendering Zbrush Next steps: modeling of the face texturing of the model Maya: rigging Maya: animation test [![HEAD_rend2_progress_4 copy_10.jpg|690x900](upload://d5GDyeK2WxAivXU33PwgSFPUbfz.jpeg)]

Hey, Suzanna, pretty pic :+1:

Just for a better view (finally perspective functioned.)

Modeling not finished,

especially for the head.
texturing soon to come.

[![HEAD_rend2_progress_4 copy_10_sidebottom.jpg|571x830](upload://hKTwFHDcvX6Z2t1Ev34GxALJvHm.jpeg)]![HEAD_rend2_progress_4 copy_10_side.jpg|571x830](upload://8eEv9DAsJ4P80Tw31yblCtuJOIc.jpeg) I will make a little brake of few days to learn some more Mel scripting for my riggs

and start inventing some few prototypes.
I am pretty sure I’ll be using dynamic driven riggs.
Till than and lots of fun.
Suzana

I really like dear Suzanna, are you influenced by Giger?

Hi illusiondigital
Thanks again for visiting.
Actually I am not, I started with this style when I was 14 years old, prior I knew about Gigger. I was also airbrushing (my father is a traditional sculpturer and airbrusher), and I developed a bit unusual style. This animation requests about 20 different characters ( backgrounds and morph shapes here not counted, but also created in Zbrush).I don’t know how much I will post here, it depends on so many factors. Thanks for your interest. Keep up your good work and come again when you can. Let me know if you need some help in rigging and let me know when you post something new.

I´m planning to make a short (about 4 or 5 minutes), but i need a little team  , if you are interesting write me to [email protected]

Best regards

PS: And thanks for all :+1:

Another PS: If you need help with the displacements, tell me

Yes I am. Right now I am doing this one, but one never knows.
I’ll contact you tonight, and we can stay in contact.
Displaycment maps - this is the kind of help what I reely need.
Rigging is what I could offer.
Here ya soon, and again thank you very much for posting here.
