•••A Sneak-Preview of the next ZBrush-Update•••

Hi guys - just a short opinion on the ZB waiting game.
When they do release it, we will all be very happy.
I wish the development team all the best and I am sure they are doing all they can to bring a superb product to us all.
In the meantime I suggest that we all get down and work our tails off to make great art from the already fantastic ZB2.

Have a great artistic day everybody.

Heck NO, then all start bickering about: Ahhhh this is not in the release, that is not in the release, this doesn’t work, I always wanted ‘THIS’, what no 64 bit?, look at the new error ‘HERE’, and so on and so on.

I am looking forward to it :D:D:D:D

Lemo

edonkey, that was some funny sh*t!

hello

could some one help?

is it zbrush 3 being released soon?

and will it contain the sphere rigging stuff?

(if you don’t get it, go back a page and read edonkey’s post. oh and thx hiroshi!)redatsiggraph.jpg

No. They’ll be announcing the release date of ZBrush 2.5 later this month. ZBrush 3 will be much later.

It will contain everything you’ve seen in the demo videos, yes. This is strictly for working with models inside of ZBrush, however. What files you export are going to be boneless and unweighted.

The Quote was used, so you could follow the story.
thank hiroshi!

Great image! But, I don’t remember that view from the Los Angeles Convention Center – has he moved south to attack San Diego?

he’s taking the scenic route to tokyo

yes
he’s heading to Tokyo and is passing threw San Diego
i think he’s looking for some of that San Diego coconut suntan oil before he heads out.

It is indefinately good to know that it is strictly for working with models inside ZBrush!!

Oopps wrong forum…

I don’t understand, will these new features be strictly a modelling aid?

As it is with shaders/materials… there is no industry standard for bones/rigging data. So all the deformers/skeletons/geometry influencing application specific tools and mechanisms will always be application specific till such a standard would emerge. Which won’t happen for a while as the optimal way has not been found yet.

ZSpheres will always (well, at least for the near future) be part of the ‘local’ toolkit in ZBrush. To be able to ‘pose’ my models I am longing for a native ZBrush ‘skeleton’ tool. Currently I export the obj to XSI and then plop a few bones into it, envelope it, bend it into shape, export the obj and continue to work in ZBrush. Doesn’t take to long but it would be great to do it in ZBrush right away.

Cheers

Didn’t wavefront release some file format for that (fbx?) with the intention of making it unversal like their .obj format for static models?

jcsfH,

Not too strictly but most of us will use it strictly for 3D modeling. Pixol technology is 2D, 2.5D, and 3D built inside ZBrush for multi-purposes.

A ZScript COULD be written to take a volume rig and convert that information to at least a starting skeleton for a specific animation package. ZScripts are very, very powerful – a power that will hopefully be tapped by more and more programming-minded individuals as time goes on.

Inside of ZBrush, you can create any imaginitve use for the tools, and believe me, someone will. But, yes, to answer your question, these will not be of use to you in rigging your character for animation in an outside application.

(not immediately, out of the box, unless someone scripts something pretty amazing)

Does anybody know if zbrush2 ZTL will be compatible with zb2.5?

that is Forward Capability and i would guess Yes.
on the zb2.5 back to zbrush2 would be Backwards Capability
and i would say No on some ZTL
