A little challenge...

Here is another approach, using the same zsphere setup. I’m not trying to be realisitc, I’ll leave that to others. However I did play around with musculature a little more on this one as I work towards the female side.

Thought I’d add an initial go at Mr. Headless.

Hey joe_seig, prety darn cool! I gots me some friends in the hills of Pennysillvania that Corona-Shine for drinkin and partyin’!!!

Hahahaha, i know him!
Is there an upcoming scene fishing with Ron?
Keep going with the good work, waiting to see an animation of the white dude!

Fishing Bas!?? We use shot guns in these parts, gets more fish in less time, back to beers!

(note from my lawyer: Mr. Belec does not endorse shot guns, NRA, killing fish, hunting, drinking beer, hunting drunk, hillbillies, moonshine, or anything else, unless you have express written permission to the contrary.)

Here is a sketch I did last night and a quick work of the head with the zsphere process. I keep thinking I want to change something but it seems to work rather well. I’m liking the way this worked out so I’m going to have to graft this head setup to one of my accepted body setups and see what can be done.

We prefer m-250s here in the midwest…load up that cooler in one shot and back to drinking before the black flies get a chance to annoy ya.

Joe- if that’s Bas you forgot the vodka!

Hey fellas, long day down at the manure plant…

Then the yungans needin’ attention, family first I always say…

Mr. Belec, it would be great to see your rig, I posed Mr. Atwooki’s up here on top of Buster’s head.

Now this ole boy’s a real character, been busted so many times, mostly for forgin’ fake IDs.

He ain’t never hurt nobody tho…

Funny cuz he’s a artsy-fartsy type fella too…which is odd ball odd for a fellun…

Hello Bas Mazur! hey you know Buzz too? (Don’t recall him ever sayin’ he’d been to the nitherland). (?)
I’d like to make such a scene of which you speak, but my z-know-how is really justa gettin’ started up…
I reckon you’d do a great job at it tho…
(Fur the white dude, I’ll have him done quicker than a cat’ll lick it’s @ss.) (shux, pardon my cruditity).

Amynuts, nope that ain’t Bas, that’s Buzz, who drinks plum lightnin’.

[gomer] Shazam y’all come back now, ya hear?[/gomer]

I used to be the master of fake id’s when I was a teenager…muhahahahahah…

Fellun…no comment

Artsy fartsy…I don’t know that I am an artist, but I do fart alot:lol:

Ok, for those of you following along at home, perhaps this will be of interest. Those trying to grab the zsphere, will probably have to recreate it under Windows as that still remains an issue with Zbrush at present.

Let me know what you think, as this thread seems to have become productive all around.

I’ve applied the new head structure we’ve all been playing with to a body that I have utilized in a few projects. It evolves a bit each time as issues are resolved.

Picture 20.jpg

Thanks Jason, I may have to recreate it (windows), so thanks for the spread.

Thanks also for your Nos, Ichabod Crane, and that recent cutey too.

A new toy, mmmmnnn…

Hey Ron, glad you smiled! (Smiling makes you live longer…(heard that somewhere)

White Sox won!

Hey joe_seig, glad you liked those characters, trying to find time to finish the ‘cutie’.

You can probably load the Zsphere armature, but if you preview, it’ll crap. So it’s a reference.

I’ve roughed in the hands and feet, I must admit that the foot is copped from Ryan Kingslein.

Picture 22.jpg

So to carry through… and to ensure I’m note missing steps when I state them.

This is pretty much e base. Shorten legs and arms byt he zspheres, scale them for various effects, etc., and of course pose.

I still see things I’d like to alter/improve, and perhaps some of you can surpass my clumsy attempts.

The nice thing about this is to be able to load the ZTL and quickly create a character that will work and can be exported and animated if you like.

Picture 23.jpg

Here is a quick example.

I’ve added the second image with a very quick pose of the distorted zsphere character.

Picture 26.jpg So Wolfie’s back, well at least his base is…

So using all this, I quickly molded Wolfie into Frank ‘Big Hands’ Jr…

Hello Jason. I’ve been absolutely swamped this past week and I haven’t been on since Sunday. So forgive me if it seems like I wasn’t interested in your generous offer of help. I have been trying to get my website up and running. (At least I have a proto version up now ( whew: )

Here’s the mess on the face.

Ok, it was a dumb idea anyway. Maybe I’ll have time for a zombie hello kitty with an ax. That would probably be more fun.

you’re getting exactly the problem I talk about in that mini-tutorial i wrote ( http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=29617 ), those 2 nostril zspheres are connecting to the same poly face in the center of the head. If you set your preview skin level to 1 it’ll be clear whats going on.

Either swap out the 2 zspheres for a single central sphere, or use something like zif_editB to add more faces in X across the head.

Hi there. Thanks. I’ve read that tutorial (nice job BTW), and I understand it in principle. Not 100% sure how to apply it. I will look at it some more and give it a shot this weekend. Every time I try to mess with xyz parameters I end up with the snowman effect though.

billrobertson42 you need to grab TVEYES script ‘XYZadjust2’, we all use it to solve this minor problem as you can do it after the fact - when you notice it’s messed up. It is a must tool in Zbrush!

Just do a quick forum search and you will be rockin!

Yeah. I need more time experimenting with that. Of course, if I really understood it, I would just write a script that would go and examine each zsphere to figure out what it’s ideal x/y and z resolution would be and make the adjustments.

I think adaptive skinning will largely fall into the dustbin once 2.5 comes out though. (http://pixologic.com/zbrush/media_links/movies2.html (third video (in case you need a reminder))) But I’ve been wrong before.
