A little challenge...

Awesome job Froyd! The clothes bend as well as the character and doesn’t tear apart as far as I can see. Now there’s a challenge!

Congratulations to ALL you guys

Just Awesome…

Lemo

Wow. it works nice :+1:
I hope we can do the same with all the waiting T-posed models soon when the update comes.

thanks guys! I´m very sure that the new ZSpheres will work much more flexible without limitiations you have at the moment. You cant pose like you want and bending often doesnt look nice, but its much more versatile and useable than I originally thought - thanks to Jason and all the others who invested their time on this thread!

Hi Froyd
your character looks real good. Especialy I like the wrinkles of the clothing.
Did you use Zbrush for the poses or an other package like MAYA?
Greez
Hilmar

only ZBrush, Landvogt :]

thanks, but I´m not very pleased with the clothfolds.
Since this was supposed to be a posing test with a more detailed ZSphere tool, I really just digged in some quick carves.

…like Froyd is a pleasure for the eyes :+1:

Hi Jason, thanks, I’m never really far away. What an incredible thread you have going here, 50,000 plus views! I wonder what the record is? 50.

Hi froyd -
Highly inspiring work on the little guy; he poses very well :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:
Let’s see what others come up with now you’ve set the pace for this setup!
(wish I had time to lean into this more myself!)

How do the mouth zifs bear up uder the preview, by the way? The smiling image looks very promising

Chris

OK froyd got me focused again at least for an hour.

As froyd says, nothing is pefect but it sure opens a lot of doors for people. I really have to find time to post some more cool info.

Decided to push this one all the way. Here are 2 early concept ideas, still messing around as you can see, even with the pose.

I like this guy! Looks promising, keep up!

Atwooki: Unfortunately I didnt pay attention on posability of the moth during modeling. I added the smile at preview mode by moving the polys a bit.

Thanks froyd, well I got an idea after messing around with him a bit. And I changed the pose again… Now I can go back to detailing.

A little more fun while being distracted over Skype by Atwooki. Who is supposed to be working.

Now this is “Stretching” the possibilities!

Just 2 questions… for now

  • when you pose -say- a fat character, do you take in consideration his mass while posing o does the mesh respect its volume after storing the MT? ei: the leg against the belly, the fat at the neck, a double chin, etc
  • Is there any way “add” more polys to a stretched part of the mesh to make it smoother? ei: the wingythings of your last test
Thanks

Hello elarcano, well it helps to consider the mass, otherwise youhave to move it out of the way. Even though we are posing, teh rest of Zbrush’s tools are still available to you.

An yes, well at least move polys to where you need them. Utilize masking and smooth tool. Mask and pull, inflate whatever, then reverse and use smooth to pull polys from main mass out to maske area. It’s a very powerful process when you get the hang of it.

I’ve been following this thread and have found it very useful in terms of learning! Thank you for the script… have watched it a few times… I think maybe a hundred times more and I might have it! LOL Seriously, thanks!

Also, Jason, very nice work!! Love what you did with this… love the wing thingies. LOL not very articulate as you can see. But I like seeing where your imagination takes us!

Thanks again!!

Thanks wenna. At this point it’s just clay around a wire frame, so only those rules apply. I thought I would do it just to remind everyone that within Zbrush you have many options. As for the character, he’s going to go through quite a bit of transformation befor the end. Then I’ll probably pull each version off into a displacement that can be morphed between each other for fun.

It’s all just a matter of time.

Yet another iteration (EDIT: or more), as I play with concepts.

Well while I wait for froyd to post yet another amazing piece I thought I’d touch on something new here. What ever happened to joe_seig anyway? And what the heck are the rest of you up to, I’m still hoping for more feedback.

So yeah, here is what I messed around with a bit today as I ponder other issues.
