Another successful Mac to Windows to Mac port with work done in both. I’m narrowing things down. Getting a lot of detail for jsut level 5…
Still trying this with a few people, works with some and not others but I am narrowing down what I hope will be a solution as Pixologic works towards the promised solution.
OK, with the help of a few wonderful people I think a solution has been arrived at. Now that said, I’m still working through the rules and the answers to the many “why’s?”. I’m going to rebuild the structure and post it, along with a zscript for 2 figures and see what happens when several of you helpful types spend some time playing. This will probably take me several days, but I hope to have something up by Monday.
Good news Jason…I’m still a nogood at ZBrush things…but I’m certain (very) that we will enjoy every bit of whatever you come up with!

It appears that Jasons hard work and perseverance is coming to healthy fruition
Below is the ZTL he sent me to for XYZ testing on the PC -
Looks pretty damn fine to me – Nice work small_orange_diamond

I responded by email odhinn, so as not to derail this thread.
Been a little busy, but had a few moments to mess around a bit more - only level 5.
Sorry, still way behind on a few things, but I did get to do a pretty good pose test and l love the fact the zsphere structure is holding as good as some nubs modeling procedures I wrote a few years back. Following earlier rules about bending the zsphere chain for one axis and the actual joint zsphere for another axis has prevented the tearing in repeated tests.
OK, here is another pose, leaning on the wall. And a quick restructuring at level 1 has created a different character with no need to adjust anything from level 2-5.
Atwooki is running some more tests, then we’ll hopefully post several zsphere aramtures to see how easily people brake them.

Alien version, just modded the zspheres here.
Jason,
Not trying to embarass you bro, but I wanted to put an open thank you note on your thread to say how lucky we are to have you on this forum. You help out so much behind the scenes and I want you to know how much it is appreciated. Thanks buddy.
Thank you odhinn.
As I work through various things I was asked to help out on another thread. In doing so I thought of something that might help many people.
- get your zsphere (structure/rig/armature) setup and Preview.
- If it looks OK, check carefully. Return to zsphere mode and store morph. Save thsi ZTL!
- Now make sure your Zscript recorder is on or turn it off and on to start a new recording.
- Now pose your zsphere structure/rig/armature until you get it right. Store this script with a similar name so you can find it. If it looks OK in Preview, you probably aren’t going to have too many issues.
- Reload your ZTL and sculpt away (I’m glossing over a lot of steps)
- Now goto Zsphere mode and run your script, then Preview.
Let me know your issues and successes. I’m still working on what I promised to post, sorry for the delay.
Some images just because, but not related to post that much.

Hello to everybody involved in this awesome thread,
I’ve read what is almost 2 years of reseach with zspheres of reseach and true sharing information for those who -like myself- know squat about zspheres, posing, zpossibilities… oh well… just about anything involving 3D
And yes, I’ve started from post #1 way up to post #333… and I’ve noticed somethings:
- I tend to smoke more when I work than on my smokebreaks
- There is A LOT of rereading this thread in my near futher
- There are no magical shortcuts to doing things right -Dammit!
- And one golden rule: Don’t ass-u-me
-don’t worry Mr. Belec… I wouldn’t ass-u-me you even if you pay me for that… lots of weird stuff going on the internet these days
Nonesense apart -if possible- The generosity and kindness -and sense of humor- has made me a true fan of Mr. Belec’s thread. I mean, one things to investigate new ways of doing things on a personal level… but to share the process for almost 2 years… Man! that is quite generous… unless of course that gives back some kinda personal self reward as well as feedbacks… in which case it would take out the altruistic feature out of the concept -just kidding-
No really… I’ve decided to change my Mr. Belec reference to Sir Belec… he is a true Gentleman -in every sense of the word-… Hey! no romantic attachments implied… Gee! it’s hard to compliment on someone these days… and by hard I mean difficult!
This is like being a foreign student going late to his first party where everybody’s drunk and knows eachother… well, you’re all probably wasted after all … yeah… real great ice breaker … I think I’ll just go to the corner and talk to the peruvian guy
I’ll just sit back and let Sir Belec enlighten me… after all… that’s why he’s a Producer/Production Pipeline Guru and I’m… oh well… unemploid
Darn I’m getting all mushy eyed. You guys are getting my female side roaring. Providing a lot of amusement for my wife though. She thinks all this computer interaction could lead to a new epidemic for the WHO.
I do appreciate all the people viewing, it’s a real turn on.
That said, if I could help a few people, it’s the least I can do. What’s the point of information if you can’t pass it on, share it, adapt it and generally improve it?
I’ll continue to provide input for this thread as long as I either discover new things or remember things I tend to forget. Yup, that old, memory really starting to go.
If someone dares to show himfself, then he shloudn’t complain when everybody knows for a fact that he’s a fool… that’s why my Grandaddy died anonymously
Well, Sir Belec was kind enough to assist me on a problem that I have yet to resolve… to be honest… I’m very new to any 3D program whatsoever… it’s that or that things are moving pretty sloooooow within the gray matter department
From what my little cortex could hold from Sir Belec’s advise, I went back to zshpering structure and these are the differences
I know I know… this post belongs nex to post #2 and not the one it’s assigned… just thought it could refresh some things viewed for new posters… that’s an pseudo/elegant way of crying out for help
I’ll attach the ztl if anyone want to tell me if I’m going the right direction
To EVERYBODY who is reading this post This tool is NOT an example of things done right nor it is intended to be followed, just to know if I’m on the right track… in other words… you’ll probably lower your z-knowledge if you play around with it
you have been kindly warned
thanks to all in advance
I hope neither Sir Belec nor the rest of the gang mind me doing this… it’s the only thing related that i have to share… and I’m not listening to my grandaddy’s advice
Try this elarcano …
EDIT [I’ve added an update image where I added some mass and detail, still at your level 3, and did a quick pose (only took 3 minutes for all those wondering) - hope you don’t mind. This character reminds me of an old buddies first toys, I actually still have the first run character on my desk. Of course he’s big and famous now.]

Do I mind if you help me by showing me how things are done?
That’s why I’m here for -left my ego on the lower drawer long before I entered this forum-
This reminds me when I was studing art and a professor ask me if he could put some brushstrokes on my study canvas. He asked me because he said: for some people it’s like if I touched there toochi!
Well Sir Belec, you can touch me toos… I mean model, when ever you want… Things don’t just come out right for me anymore -tempted to edit this-
Thanks very much for the model, I’ll dig into it right away
Ladies and Gentelmen… Sir Jason “Wink” Belec
Well in between a few other things I posed these…
You should easilt be able to replicate. Just remember that a zsphre or zsphere chain can only rotate in one axis. The next zsphere or chain will have to do another direction.

Oh yeah - Welcome elarcano.
Your jokes are fine, and feel free to post here, it may help someone else as well.
