Totally agree with everything you said Knacki
Knacki you are right if pixologic do not develop sculptris other company will do for sure
take care of your young baby pixo!
I’ve been a longtime Mudbox user, and have recently discovered Sculptris. I remember trying ZBrush way back, and being frustrated by it. Then I discovered Mudbox and loved it’s easy to use interface.
When I first saw Sculptris I dismissed it as “Aww, isn’t it cute, another sculpting app.” But then I tried it and haven’t looked back. I like using it even more than Mudbox. The whole concept of working at different subdivision levels seems so antiquated now. I love not having to worry about that with Sculptris, it puts the detail exactly where I need it.
I can’t wait to see how it develops, it would be a damn shame if this app doesn’t flourish into a complete full featured app.
I don’t know about a full featured app because pixo has zbrush for that. I’d like to see a proper installer, bug fixes (crash issues etc), and the tools to be refined.
As a beginner/hobbyist tool I think sculptris does its job fine, just needs some refinement.
Hi all,
I recently had the request to create a biped as fast as I could, low poly without going too in deep into details and so on. It was for a researcher. I prefer to used the immediateness skills of sculptris to make the base mesh shape than the power of 3d Coat (trial version->free!-> even if expired allows to export retopolized model) retopology tools.
All the process took only few hours.
My dream is to have a sculpting software with the dynamic tasselation and the user friendly organization of sculptris, the retopology power of 3D coat and also its voxel features, and the extreme power of Zbrush in terms of number of vertex supported and huge amount of operations it can covers.
This would be THE SOFTWARE for sculpting!
P.S. sorry for my english…but still…SCULPTRIS RuUuUuULZ
Beautiful work. The question now is, when do we get a sculptris update?
Thanks! Glad you like it!
Pixologic made a revolution and creates basically the digital sculpting, so now that its own environment is evolving I think they have something very cool in mind about sculptris and its concept. More time they spend without updates or release, more my hype grows. So lets wait, take your time Pixo and than brake my jaw
It’s too late to be a beta tester, SeanJM?
Do you still have this Alpha?
Are you willing to share?
It Looks awesome!
Yeahh, we all want that alpha, looks really cool!!!
Hello.
Please tell me.
Sculptris commercial use ok?
I’m not good at English.
I’m sorry.
WOWWW!!!, beatutifull Interfaz, is it Alpha 6?, wow!! nice work Pixologic team!!, but i have a one question:
and will it be for Microsoft Windows?
PD: i would like be part of Pixologic Sculptris as Beta Tester, but the problem is next:
first, i have 17 years old and my parents give not me permission to give my phone or my address.
but i have good ideas for complement with this program (SCULPTRIS).
Thanks for the screen shot of a potential UI… it’s really beautiful. Too bad Pixologic seems to all but have forgotten about Sculptris already!
I hope that “Sculptris” will be always free, and won’t exist a professional and free version, because they have ZBrush for sell and not Sculptris.
sorry for my english but i speak spanish and not much english
Great little program!
I would love to be able to use Sculptris with a more Z-Brush-style interface: Being able to zoom with Alt + LMB drag, Shift-Ortho viewport snap, scaling of the brush using the ‘s’ key, ALT for pushing in geo vs. CTRL key in Sculptris, etc
Better yet, I’d love to see voxel tech incorporated into ZB without having to learn yet another interface, especially since a lot of us are used to ZB.
Great program though…I just kept making mistakes of trying to move around like ZB…imagine the power of voxels in ZB with the standard ZB interface (perhaps layer support too?) and of course, all the other ZB tools, materials/matcaps, brushes, alphas, etc.
Looking forward to see what happens with it.
i unzip it and the .exe doesn’t get unzipped. then if i go inside the zip file and double click the .exe, it says that it can’t find the proper dll. what is the problem. I have been forever trying to install this thing.
Wow. I love the new UI! I’m so excited!
There is a ipad app that does something like this called iDough, but it merely works with a static mesh, it doesn’t retesselate, but I found my ability to create on a touch screen much faster than with a mouse. And being able to do it while sitting in a Starbucks and not having to pull out tons of cables and sitting in a sofa seat, very gratifying…
You also have Sculptor at the iTunes App Store, another finger clay modeling app.
Hey guys I want to know can we use this software for commercial use?
