Love spawn! this piece is coming along really nicely. excited to see the final.
Now that, is a proper Spawn. Good job.
Hi Guti. This IS the best Spawn I have ever seen. This style you have going on is ‘brutal’. There is no ‘weakness’ to it. It’s deep and intense what your putting into this sculpt. The render is outstanding, it’s got a cool 3D/2D feel to it that works just right.
When your done, you need to send this over to the spawn folks, I know they would love it. Or at least post it at the forums at spawn.com. You know, while looking at this piece, if you will allow me, my best friend many years ago drew an image of spawn.
What I really liked about that image was, the way he had drawn the chains. Instead of doing them round (as in your image), he had drawn the chain links ‘jagged’ i.e. sharp looking, like MANY LITTLE KNIVES all linked together. And I only mention this Guti,
as I am looking at his face and ‘sharp’ fingers and could not help but wonder how your AWSOME sculpt would look with the STYLE of chains I just mentioned. You know, deadly looking chains instead of tow truck looking chains?? Don’t get me wrong,
this is an out of this world sculpt… just giving you some ideas to maybe ‘intensify’ the image?? Also, ‘I’ like, that SHARP turn you have on that piece of chain that is right under his LEFT ARM. ‘I’ think, if you put a couple more of those in the chains, that would also help in giving your overall sculpt a cool evil feel. Again, just my thoughts.
Best.
Great job!!
Great pose, composition and style!
This is going to look like one of your best models!
Keep up with the good work!
Great
The best Spawn I have never seen.
Awesome ,Nice pose for Spawn
Really cool. Lots of action going on. His jaw reminds me a lot of the band leader in “Corpse Bride”.
@DustyDeWD: Thank you very much
@Evan Gaugh: Thanks Evan, I’m also excited for the final… the challenge ends this friday, so for this date I will have my final image
@Shotgun Scream: Thanks!
@Dragon: Thank you very much for your good advices!
Unfortunately I fear to have not time in order to put a new chain before the end of the challenge,
but I have already tried this on paper and I think that it will work very well on my model.
So, If I can not update the chain to the end of the competition, I will surely after… and when the model
will be finished I will definitely send it to the Spawn folks
@asecbrush: Thanks asecbrush
@stefanobernardi: Grazie Stefano! E si stà uscendo proprio un bel modello :), speriamo di andare sempre meglio anche con i prossimi!
@nonlogic: Thanks!
@CarlosVidal: As ou there there are awesome Spaw bust I am very happy to read your comment! Thank you very much!
@rossonerixx: Thank you
Here some progress I did last week.
I added some detail
and I have done some test with different types of heads:
- The rotten and burned one without mask
- The one with a more classical Spawn mask
- The one with a rotten mask
For the challenge I will use this last one… but it is very funny to see the tree version
And here one test I did with caplights and BPR…
Apart the DOF effect this is 100% zBrush!
love it!
nothing more to say
Great character mate . Really nice sculpt and overall nice pose aswell.
Looking forward seeing more from you.
CHeers,
Kenny
Hi Guti. Glad you liked the idea of the ‘sharp’ chains (if you ever get a 3D print off or do a sculpt, ‘I’ think that will only help ENHANCE the final product). But, I know what you mean by just trying to finish this one up (redoing the chains right now would most certainly be a killer-;))
Ya, I think fans will love the head with the mouth open (not the flesh like coloured one, but the grey one). But… I have ta tell ya, the head with NO mouth, what is it man?? Something real cool about that one… it’s sleek, futuristic yet, heavy duty and very, very cool looking. I cannot
put my finger on it, but, it just looks extremely cool.
The rendering is something else. Man, ZBrush has really come a long way, just crazy how cool this program is and totally amazing in the hands of artists such as yourself.
Anywho, wish you all the best with the contest. If you do not win, tell the judges to turn the lights on and take their glasses off- Cause, you HAVE to win!
PS: And if no one has mentioned it, um, this IS toprow stuff already!! The last shot, truely shows ZBrushes BPR rendering abilities.
HA, this is pretty sweet. I just stumbled on here. Very well done on the flow of the piece. You kept that hand drawn dynamic throughout. Impressive man small_orange_diamond
That last render is sick. He has a cool comic style to him. I would love to see a render tut to get that look.
top row!!!
@SoM80: Thanks!
@KC-Production: Thanks Kenny!
@Dragon: Thank you very much Dragon! I’m very glad you like this model… and definitely you made my day with your kind words
@Framedworld: Thank you Framedworld… I’m very glad to hear this from you: I love your works!
@soulty666: Thansk soulty! After the end of the challenge I will make a mini-tut with the parameters used for the render
@pappete: eeee… magari! Ma mi sa che ne devo fare ancora parecchia di strada per finirci
In the mean-time a very efficient prototiping factory for toys sent me the first 3d print… here a picture:
…ok … ok … I know you know that this is a joke …
I obtained this render composing on PSP three different render zBrush BPR:
main light and rim light from two render with a single light + render “environmental” with caplight from photographs of the city at sunset (very romantic).
In the meantime I’ve to stop doing render test and go finish the last details.
Looks like a toy to me
That’s cool, it does look like a picture of a collectibles statue of Spawn- And on the ‘kind words’, you deserve them!
I second this request! And a tute for this last render as well would be very awsome! I have no idea what to do when setting up renderings:D-
