tutorial: getting normal map from Zbrush3

Hello, I’ve tried the tutorial you’ve mentioned here…however I’m having some weirdness. Would any one happen to know why I can’t get the displacement to look right? I’m having the same issues trying to make normal maps in Maya too by the way…it creates a bunch of checker type patterns…only in blue instead of this. I’ve been on this problem for like two days now. I can’t seem to make a normal map OR displacement map in zbrush3. An clues from anyone would make me very very happy;)

Oh yah in Zbrush 3.1 is the normal map exporting function fixed?
