Anyone seen a 3d printer cutup tutorial anywhere?

We finally took the plunge and ordered a Ultimaker 2.0+ extended.

I know how to cut things up in zbrush, but for things like limbs, you usually want one or more pins and a socket(s) to align parts properly. My Zbrush skills are a bit rusty from not using it for 6 months or so, and I’m sure there must be an easy way to add a pin, subtract it from one joint part, and add it to the ajoining part to be able to align parts a bit better.

Has anyone done a tutorial on doing this in zbrush anywhere?

I am interested in the same thing.
I have tried several methods for cutting up my models for print including outside software such as netfabb and meshmixer. However for ultimate control I would prefer to do it in Zbrush. I am looking for the best steps to take a model and dice it up so that I have clean flat mating surfaces that will register back together.

Thanks in advance

Here are three different methods you can try.

Thanks for the links. Greatly appreciated

Thanks! I just found out I’ll get my ultimaker 2+ extended a week earlier, so I need to bone up on these!
