zspheres mess up model

Hi there,
I am new to Zbrush and I am trying to make a hamster. I started out with Zspheres and I experience problems with the head. I know from searching the forum that a zsphere has to be handled as a cube and that I cannot put more that one childsphere to each side of the parent. But what about the ears? It’s messing up my mesh and the mor I refine it, the more crocked it looks. Can you help me?

The two ears appear to still be on the same face of the parent. Try reducing the Tool>Adaptive Skin>Ires setting.

Thank you very much. That was the answer I was looking for. Nevertheless when I do so, the Body is suddenly shaped like a snowman. How can I avoid that?

Don’t worry too much about what your adaptive skin looks like. As long as you have the geometry you need to get started sculpting, then your ZSpheres have served their purpose. You want to get past the ZSphere phase as quickly as possible…it should really only take five or ten minutes, then you move on to the fun part: sculpting.
