Hi, I’m trying to rig with Zspheres but on a mesh with multiple subtools, is this possible? I’m only asking as I prefer to use this method than Transpose master, since I feel it yields better results.
Hey there,
yeah i would really prefer to do all my posing with a ZSphere Rig, but there are two essential limitations: doesn’t work with Subtools and don’t even think about posing models with higher Polygon counts.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for the reply mate, I did find one alternative on youtube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_n9q8EVpqA
I’m wondering if this works well though. I’ve tried using Transpose Master many a time but always seem to get a lot of shearing and never optimal results. Guess it just takes a lot of practice
You can use ZSphere rigging with Transpose Master:
- Create a combined mesh using Transpose Master.
- Select a ZSphere then press Rigging>Select Mesh and choose the mesh created at (1). Its name will begin ‘TPose#’.
- Rig and pose the mesh.
- Set Adaptive Skin>Density to 1.
- Press Adaptive Skin>Preview.
- Press Tool>Export and save the pose as an OBJ.
- Select the original ZTL (which has subtools).
- Press the Transpose Master TPose>SubT button. A dialog will appear asking if you would like to load a file from disk. Select the OBJ exported at (6).
- The pose will be transferred.
Thanks Marcus,
as i’ve said earlier, you never stop learning. It’s a horrible workflow, but it actually works
