Zsphere rigging problem

This is the first time I thought of using Zspheres as a quick way to pose a character. I kind of decided in the end that I wouldn’t use this technique for my current project (Because you can’t twist Zsphere rigs. I need twisting for the human figures I’m working on and I don’t feel that transposing afterwards would be productive for my needs).

Anyway, the big problem I had was that sometimes after I bound the rig to my low poly model, the whole thing would suddenly shrink to a corner of my canvas when I tried to manipulate it. Even after painstakingly getting it back to the right size, it would happen again and again. It was very frustrating.

So, I was wondering if there was anything I could do to prevent this sort of thing in the future?

Are you using 3.1? It happened often in 3.1…seems to happen less in 3.5

Anyways, they way people commonly address this is just hitting the “frame” button. Or possibly Ctrl-Z, then Frame, depending on the situation, if I recall. It is annoying, but fairly easy to recover from.
