Zsphere 2.0 question

hei all guys,
I’s trying out the zbrush 3.5 new zsphere feature.
I was originally knda skeptical about its real effectiveness since it really doest takes long to create a cagemesh in maya but looking at these new zsketch images i told myself what the hell let’s give it a shot!
The result is rough and random but that’s the beauty in it i guess it looks very organic from the very beginning.
Anyway when I generate my adaptive skin before I was getting a highly subdivided polymesh topologically following the zsketch microspheres, right now tho isf I go to the adaptive I get the simple zsphere toplogy (aka smoothed cubes). this generates all sort of projection errors mostly in the shoulder peck muscle connection point.
any idea?

i’m at work now and I cant post stuff…
what I’m getting is a lowres cage subdivided up to snap on the zsketch… what I was expecting was that weird scandata looking mesh i see in the demo zshere objects (the racer and the mosquito cthulhu thingy)
hope this explains it’s a purely technical thing, the zsketch output isnt what I expected

Hey there,

when using ZSketch there are 2 ways how you can create your mesh.

One is just using the unified skin. The other one is using adaptive skin.

Build a ZSphere armature and ZSketch on top of that. Before creating your skin, you need to get the armature as close as you can to your ZSketch. the more distance to the ZSketch surface, the more skin errors you will have. Don’t be afraid to draw in some more (sometimes even ridiculous ZSpheres)

I figured it out tonight when starting on my new creature :slight_smile:
lots of fun there ZSpheres 2 are quite of an awesome feat!
open a lot of possibilities especially since they stick to any other subtool in the scene!

Another cool thing is that you can use the same ZSphere armature later on for posing :wink:

it’s also pretty cool that the zsketch is totally indipendent from it i can remove add and move the zsphere armature around as much as I want!
any idea if it’s possible to resym the zsketch sometimes it get’s messed up
