Enjoy Gedn.
Was a great journey figuring them out.

Thanks a lot for those 2 new brushes. I’ll try them out next chance I get.

Cheers!

it is on mate  I might be able to find my old copy somewhere, Is you tablet fixed? I am also keen to give that a go, would be fun, It should run under windows 7? I need to find my image for that contest, though its nearly a decade old, lots of cds to go through, maybe even a zip disc

Hitch Buddy!

I remember the image!
It was a great character image (if I’m not mistaken).

I too have (at least) 50 CDs to go through to find 1.23b.
It is so interesting how much a backup habit (at this moment) seams a pain.

Whether this goes down or not, the nostalgia alone is worth its weight on revisiting.

Oh my god what a wonderful time!

When ZBrush was mocked and shunned!

We were called false 3D artist.
We were called dreamers.
We were called out as fakers, posers, and hopeless wannabes!
NOW, its a prerequisite; A production standard!

I remember an IRC chat room night when we taught a young Z user how to master the program and that user turned out to be MonsterMaker!..Better known as Rick Baker

I even remember when Bay Raitt asked about Zbrush, Mirai, being abroad, and finalizing Gollum for the Lord of the Rings Trilogy!

Afterward it was about Unreal Engine, Gears of War, and the Future of Modern Entertainment!

That’s when we Zgeeks hit it big time!

Beautiful times!

Talk about the unsung heroes of modern modeling mythology!

Just…beautiful!

Z has been the cornerstone of CG/entertainment growth for more years than anyone will ever admit!

Blessed Be Z!

My 3D Religion!

Made this just now.
Something quick.
I realized I had forgotten how to start a retopo.

You might want to try building your own. I’m waiting for this guy to release the kit for the Intuos 4 XL, which will be bigger, higher res and cheaper than the Cintiq.

http://tabletmod.com/

XxDarkMessiahxX! Dude that was one of the coolest mods I’ve seen in a long time!
Thanks for sharing! I will definately look into this!

The best part is it is just an enclosure that fits around the Intuos with an LCD placed over it. You’re using existing Wacom technology & not voiding your warranty in any way. Although the XL kit is supposed to require you to take it apart just to make it lighter and more compact.

People have done some interesting things and posted it on Easy DIY Cintiq’s Facebook page. You might want to check that out too.

Oh I know. I combed the place for an hour! Wicked impressive.

Just a posting movies test.

Really Beautiful Mahl

You need to sell the movie to Ofer xD

All th best

Victor

Thank you Vic!
Would never sell it though.
For all they have done for me, they can have it.

For personal as well as professional reasons, I have decided to augment my project with the new Z4R2 Release. This way, I can use my knowledge and Z-familiarization to best educate the general Z public as well as our faithful ZBC user community!

Sorry to disappoint the followers but trust me, this will be great!

Stay tuned!

~MAH~

Decided to dust off an old character and play while we all wait for Z4R2.
The big video/assets project is still on, just not yet.
Here he is.

@Mahlikus The Black

Nice sculpting here.
I noticed the retopo small tut you posted. This is the reason why some claim that retopo tool is broken in zbr4. You simply can’t do much this way as back faces are visible.
No
Do this though. Append a zsphere with your sculpt, select it and just click edit retopo on the retopo palette. I call it civilization
Another tip, use bump preview shader, it really helps.

Nah…I’m just gonna avoid it until Pixologic revisits topology. :o Its my firm belief its coming soon. UV Master I feel was the start of exploring such an area.

Don’t underestimate zb retopo tool if used as I suggested. These few words from a 3dcoat owner and user. In some cases you may find it very fast. Just avoid to move vertices [W]. they stop snapping. ?! Better delete and re assign them.
What makes this tool fast is that you can use n-gons too. Even vertices better, zb will turn them to quads automatically.

Auto-retopo tools as in 3dcoat are effective in some static cases (not animated)
In general I consume more time to fix manually these issues here and there than working from scratch. In general a non animated model, (of course you need retopo for this, to export nice displacements maps. UVs etc), can be manipulated very fast in zb retopotool using just a few ( under 1000) faces and subdividing them. A few tris are OK as the first subdivision will turn them to quads. The most important is to have evenly subdivided cage as possible. Zb painting likes it.

Some other posses!

As I understood it you guys were confused about the thing with seeing backfaces when using the retopology tools - a nice fix for this is to change the front opacity to 1 below preferences>draw
