Zsketch - turning off subtool interaction?

Last year produced a rapid prototyping design in Rhino. (A toy.)

Now I’d like to use the exported .obj mesh as a guide for proportions for a Zbrush redesign. No problem using it as a subtool and building an armature out of Zspheres. I’d like to use Zsketch but without the direct application of zsketching onto the surface of the subtool mesh. Can I selectively turn on and off specific subtools that would interact with Zsketch, while still keeping them visible and transparent? Thanks.

My other concern is I’d like to use the image plane X without Zsketch strokes sticking to the surface.

For example examine making the skull portion of the head as documented in the ZBrush_3.5_tutorials.pdf. Wouldn’t it be nice to use some anatomical reference within the application? Something like the tutorial here. [http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Sculpting_A_Skull_With_Image_Planes](http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Sculpting_A_Skull_With_Image_Planes)
