zsketch and zspheres

this has probably been asked before but how can you get a drawn zsphere to follow the surface of a mesh like what happens when you use zsketch…

i have been trying to make some vines over a rock and using zsketch produces a too high dense mesh but it looks better than if i just use zspheres…

i have just been trying out the curvetube brush and i am curious about something:

a: can you change the denisty of the tube

b: how can you make one whole length without breaks in it. i mean i am going around a sphere but everytime i move the sphere to use the curvetube brush on the other side you end up with another tube…
