ZRemeshing Problems

Hi guys,

I’m new to ZBrush and I’m trying to ZRemesh this model:

When I Zremesh, no matter what settings I try, I get holes or horribly stretched polys:

What am I doing wrong? I need to turn this mesh into quad polys to convert them to SubDs.
You can download the original mesh here:

Suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

There seem to be lots of issues with the original geometry… unwelded points, flipped normals, etc.

You can get “okay” results (depending on what you are using this for) if you crease polygroups first, weld points, then check “freeze groups” in zremesher… but the geo/topology is still pretty problematic.

Can you put the file into Dropbox please (or an easy to access link), or somewhere other than Microsoft Drive as I don’t have an account there.

Yeah, I was going to take a look at it earlier but I’m not going to create an account just to download the file.

From what Thor said, it sounds like the model needs some attention in whatever polygon modeling program created it. Make sure all vertices are welded and you have a uniform distribution of mostly quad geometry. And then run a mesh check for errors before exporting to .obj.
