Zremeshing problem

Hi, if i try to zremesh using “keep groups” and “freeze borders” like you can see in the image, the program give me this error:

i tried all the combinations of the simmetry but the only combinations that works (without the error in the first image) are combinations that ruin the surface of the mesh, DUPLICATING parts on the surface like here: (simmetry y,z)
NORMAL FRONT-BACK (BEFORE REMESHING):

FRONT- BACK AFTER REMESHING:

if i try to remesh using the simmetry that i need (in my case on the axis z) the program told me the error of the first image, i hope someone can help me, thanks for the attention

You could be running into some memory issues (your first screenshot shows 1GB of free memory, but if Zremesher is trying to work with millions of points then you’re probably going to want 2-4GB for Zremesher alone in addition to whatever zbrush is using). I’m not sure if decimation will help since those are some pretty dense panels.

If symmetry is making zbrush have to crunch even more, consider ZRemeshing it without any symmetry on, and then using the Mirror and Weld function afterwards.

To amplify what @Cryrid said, your mesh is probably too dense for ZRemesher to do what you want it to on your system. If his suggestion of using Mirror and weld instead of Symmetry doesn’t work, you may have to get that polycount down.

I’m also curious if you really need “Freeze Borders”. Is your mesh unwelded? Difficult to tell with that dense of a polyframe, but Freeze Border would typically be used on a mesh with open holes or partially hidden geometry. If your mesh IS unwelded, you could Zremesh the pieces separately, lowering the ZRemesher workload. If you do need to use Freeze Borders, you could also try hiding pieces of your mesh and ZRemeshing section by section.

If your concern is simply maintaining the polygroups, then “Keep Groups” and optionally “Freeze Groups” would be the two relevant controls.
