Zremesh with polypaint and ProjectAll issues

please check out the sequence of screens shots that show my issue with Zremesh with polypaint and ProjectAll.

screen shot 1 / shows initial 12mil subtool with Zremesh settings and polypaint for mesh density. only the face has been painted.

screen shot 3 / shows result of Zremesh and settings used.

screen shot 4 / show projection of main subtool to new remeshed subtool. lots of “jaggy” stuff going on.

screen shot 5 / shows polyframe view of remeshed subtool. the remesh is 3 Mil.

screen shot 6 / show original high poly subtool in polyframe

any suggestions how to tackle such issues ? this all might go back to the original high poly 12 mil subtool poly distribution , but it actually looks even no ??

I don’t see the polypaint issue you’re referring to here. The “Jaggies” on the target mesh are the result of trying to project 12 million polygons worth of detail onto a 3 million poly mesh. It would need to be subdivided again.

Polypaint is also resolution dependent, so if you project 12 million polygons worth of polypaint onto a 3 million polygon mesh, you’re going to lose color detail. If you want to display the high res polypaint color on a lower resolution mesh, you’ll have to UV the mesh at its lowest subdivision level, then create a texture from polypaint with the high res color data.

It would probably be helpful to know what you’re trying to accomplish here specifically.
