ZProject Texturing: texture not displaying on ref plane

I’m just starting to learn how the texturing features of ZB work and I followed the steps in one of the video tutorials in the “Did you know that” thread, but after pretty much step 1, it doesn’t work. I’m using Zbrush 3.2 on Mac OS X 10.5.8

I created a 3D Plane primitive, put it into edit mode, then I chose a texture from a file I imported. However, no texture shows up on the plane. I tried changing the material to flat color, choosing one of the built-in textures, tried different file formats, I even tried changing the plane to a polymesh, but no texture shows up on it. It will just be whatever color the material is.

In the tutorial vid, he just created a plane, put it in edit mode, chose a texture and it appeared on the plane. Is there some global preference to make the texture show up or some other setting he didn’t mention? This method seems really powerful for cloning textures from photos but only if I can see the texture :wink:
