zProject not working?

I’m trying to do the tutorial “Tutorial:ZProject and SubTools” in 3.12b, and I can’t find the “Elevation” input. Can anyone help?

Also, why can’t I get back to edit mode sometimes after a tool has been sitting on the canvas? (Its just a white cursor).

I’m also not understanding the subtool palette order. For some reason, after appending a subtool, the transparency for the top tool won’t be transparent. I get confused as to why that is.

Can someone step me through this?

1) Use Brush>BrushMod

2) Have you selected a different Tool? Doing so prevents you from returning to Edit mode. You’d have to reselect the model again, clear the canvas, then draw the model and return to Edit mode.

3) I’m not following from your description.
