Zproject issues.

Hey there.
I’m trying to texture a model I have with the help of zproject.
Just to let you know I’m using Zbrush 3.2 on a mac
What I’m doing is this.
1)I import a photo through the texture panel.
2)I crop and fill the canvas with that photo.
3)I draw my model on the canvas with a fast shader.
The model has guv tiles and the “texture on” button is UNpressed.
4)I select the zproject tool and through the move tool I select the reference point for the texture.
5)I start painting and nothing happens at all!!!

It’s strange though because I tried every other object, like a sphere a star and it works quite fine there, but not on my model.
Any ideas what is happening?

You need to fill the object with a base color before you can start polypainting. Color>Fill Object.

By the way, turning texture off deletes your UV’s. The model no longer has any UV mapping until you turn texture on again and assign fresh mapping.

Any other solutions? The same thing’s happening to me, but I’m only able to click “fill layer”, not “fill object.”

I am desperately looking for a way to texture paint from my photo ref… got to get my model in front of my client asap.

Used to be able to do this through Projection Master in 3.12, but upgraded to 3.2 and now can no longer do it… can’t clone from the photo onto the model.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
