ZProject- Image intersecting/Blocking my model?

I’ve been messing around with Zbrush over the past few days trying to familiarize myself with it- and I decided to intrepidly dive into the Zproject feature.

I created a simple model, and followed the tutorial for Zproject.

I load the image in as the tutorials have told me to do, and then use the tool option to drag in the model I want to Project.

Now here’s the problem: My model is -always- intersecting the image by more than halfway. So it’s always hiding parts of my model I don’t want hidden- and if I turn it sideways, the face mostly disappears behind the image. Here’s a screencap of it:

I’ve tried every way I know of to move the image and/or the model farther out so I can see the entire thing when it’s turned sideways- but so far, no luck.

Any advice would help a lot!

There are a couple options:

  • After drawing your model on the canvas, turn on the gyro in Move or Rotate mode. Click and drag outside the model on blank canvas to move the object closer or farther relative to the camera.
  • Or before drawing the object on the canvas set Picker>Z to the depth that you want. -1000 is normally about perfect. This draws the object at the specified depth relative to the pixol that your canvas stroke starts on. In your case, relative to the reference image’s depth.

Thanks!
