Zooming pains!

I got this from a two week old posting. I was looking for an answer to this very same problem!

“On some tablet, after working on a mesh for some time, if you zoom in (alt+click+drag on the canvas) and it hits the zoom limit and starts zooming in on the canvas, sometimes when you brush (even the tweak brush) it will edit only one poly point at a time, like when you have your brush to set to the smallest size and brush at that size. Regardless how big you set the brush. If you zoom out to actual canvas size, it works normally, but it does that again if you zoom in too close again.”

Please someone help! This problem is maddening! I’m squinting to see what I’m doing because zooming in to much makes editing the model impossible!

Thanks in advance!

This happens to me as well. Although the workaround I use is to hide most of the mesh except for the area I need to work on, that way when you rescale by alt+clicking on the canvas, you dont have these issues. Only workaround I’m aware of unfortunately.

==Sorry, double post==
(where’s the delete button, anyway?)

I think that was from my post. anyway, I updated my tablet driver and the problem seems to go away. Haven’t had that for a few days now. Maybe it’s wacom-related? (or ZB referred to something in the wacom driver that’s broken?)

Just curious, what tablet are you using?

Wacom Intuos 3

Updating the drivers might fix it… Frustrating thing is that I’m using ZBrush now and there isn’t a problem. Seems to happen after extended use and/or when ever ZBrush decides to act up.

I’ve had problems in the past with Photoshop. I would use the mouse and the Wacoms’ sensitivity to pressure would go away until I reloaded the driver.

Anyone else getting the speedy zoom?

When the model is zoomed in all the way then the canvas starts to zoom in. When this happens for me ZBrush will suddenly zoom in as far as it’ll go. I have to move the Pen very slowly to get the desired framing.

Maybe it’s just an annoying bug in ZBrush, hopefully a driver update will fix this too.

Thanks for the help!

This behaviour is set by the Auto Edit Doc Zoom slider in Preferences:Transform. Set it to 1 to disable.

feureau - Thanks for the help! I updated the driver and at this point only time will tell. Oh and some thought you posting a list of bugs was to soon… not I! I think we need to get these issues out of the way so we can find them fix them and be merry!

marcus_civis - Thanks for the help! All I get when I control click those sliders is a generic message about the prefrences pallet! I’m still learning, and ZBrush is intuitive but surprisingly robust!

Back to work!

The Edit Zoom Doc thingy seemd to work fine in 3.0

But i just now had an instance where it wasn’t working in 3.1

It was zooming in on the document even though the Edit Zoom Doc was set to 1, which is as low as it goes.

This could be related to my other issue that i can’t seem to get a response on where my rotating keeps sticking. I rotate the camera around the model and it keeps jamming up on me. This is when it sometimes zooms.

please help
