Zombie!(might be a little graphic)

Hi all,

This isn’t my first Z-brush piece (been using it for about a year now), but this is my first sculpt I’ve had the courage enough to post on ZBC.

My idea for this zombie is that he must have died in a pool of water with the right sides of his face, torso and right arm sticking out, then rose up as a zombie, hence the varying degrees of decomposition.

Hope you all enjoy!!!

Awesome ! Great work ! :+1:

wow! incredible detail on the arm and the face, looks so creepy and that’s amazing, great job!

Absolutely beautiful. Where did you get your reference for the decomposition? I look on google but there really isnt anything too helpful. Im gonna be sculpting a zombie next month and this one is going in the reference folder.

Fantastic work.

Thanks to both of you for your comments. I really appreciate the encouragement.

DAnconia - I’ve also had a lot of trouble finding good reference for this. Mostly I used regular old anatomy reference, sculpting the muscles and bones without any real “rot”. From there I went through and deconstructed areas between the muscles…trying to get the look of curdled fat mixed with exposed veins. Feel free to use this as reference, although if you have any luck finding better decomposition reference let me know

Thanks again!

If you have any used book stores near you try looking for used Advanced First Aide books. They have some pretty gruesome pics in them.
Some of the pics of electrocution/burn injury might be helpful here.
Looking very rotten  In a good way though!

mikala - thanks for the advice on the books…ill see if i can find anything nearby!

Mr. CG - thanks so much for the compliment…for some reason your comment didnt show up until just now, even though you were the first to post…

This is one of the best zombies I have seen on here EVER.

Really REALLY like this piece. The idea of semi decomposition on half of the body is a really nice idea.

Are you going to colour him up?

I love this zombie

Very nice, but not gruesome enough, he needs poly paint

I really like it…Zombies pretty much rock when done well.congrats on a great zombie sculpt.

Thanks to all for the nice comments!!

I’m sure I’ll eventually paint him, and maybe add some ripped up pants with bare feet sticking out, but for now I’m trying to put together a new reel and website…so stay tuned!!

I love his rotten flesh  Fantastic work on muscles and wounds :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1: this rotten arm looks amazing

This is just awesome
