ZModeler Suggestions: Click and drag for stitch/bridge. Rotate invisible edge. Cut.

Heya guys, thanks for Zmodeler! It’s great and I’m doing my best to get cozy with it and stay out of my Maya comfy chair. These might be suggestions, but I also may not have found the functionality

1: Allow click and drag on two-click operations.
I’ve found clicking targets really finicky on cintiq, and depending what my face mode is I’m always deleting or polygrouping faces instead of bridging edges/stitching verts. May I humbly request drag from point A to B which would feel more like QMesh (drag with snap) or Maya’s QuadDraw?. I’ve tried changing Zmodeler selection distance but it seems not to impact edge vs vert selection. Also if a mesh is open and your cursor travels any distance over the edge of the opening distant faces get priority - the highlight snapping only works when you’re on a face.

Also could we have visual feedback on stitch points? The first point doesn’t highlight, so you can’t be 100% sure you were accurate). A way to cancel the second point if we misclicked would be great too. I’ve tried esc/right click/backspace/switch brush.

2: Allow flipping of a quad’s ghost edge.
ZBrush treats quads as two tris like most packages, but to use subdivs I can’t cut in an explicit edge to fix the rotation ZB has chosen for this ghost edge. Zmodeller’s rotate edge only works on explicit edges, can we have this work on those ghost edges too?

3: Multicut/slice tool.
I haven’t been able to find a tool like Maya MultiCut so at the moment I do things like inserting a partial edgeloop or splitting a face, then the awkward vertex stitching begins :\ Is there a straight up cut tool like Maya’s multicut I’m not finding, and if not is this an incoming thing?

4: Extrude Edge to create a single face instead of a volume
I was hoping on an open shape (say a plane) I could grab an edge and extrude it parallel to the surface, just pulling a new polygon along with it. QMesh and Extrude on edge mode however both extrude along the surface normal and create a pyramidal volume. For now I extrude and then delete faces, but I’m sure I’m not finding the right way. I’ve also tried using transpose edge and control dragging the middle circle, but it only works on faces.

Thanks again guys, I hope this isn’t stuff you’ve addressed 100 times already.

+1 for the suggestions #2, 3 and 4…
Now, the #1 can be a little tricky… what if I need to rotate the view to reach the point B?

Heya Regnas, I was thinking two tap would work as usual if you chose to tap, drag and snap would work if you chose to drag. Maybe you could also use midde mouse drag (hint hint)

It doesn’t look like this forum is visited by anyone from Pixo very often. It’s unfortunate, the scripting forum is great and gets lots of love from Marcus.
