Zmodeler stitch points action undesirable point collapse

(attached gif)
I am stitching two points (on the edge of blue and purple PG) and

  1. its collapsing some vertices on the open edge of the red PG
  2. it is also stitching almost the entire edge loop

anyone knows, what am i doing wrong?

what i tried already (unsuccessfully - still messes up points exactly the same):

  1. masking/ hiding the red PG
  2. bridge two holes

Hello @Demoan_666,

This likely has to do with one or both of the following:

  1. The value of the Preferences> Geometry> ZModeler Welding Tolerance is too high for your mesh. Reduce this to a minimum value. You can save this as the value at startup by storing the configuration (Preferences> Config> Store Config).

  2. Your mesh is too small in the worldspace. Optimal size for working in ZBrush is a Tool> Geometry> Size> XYZ of approximately 2. A mesh that is drastically smaller than this value may suffer inadvertent point welding even with a minimum tolerance setting. You would have to increase the size of your mesh so the points weren’t quite so close together in the worldspace.

Good luck

thanks for the tips @Spyndel , I usually keep my scenes in ZB unit size (as you mentioned), i think welding tolerance was the culprit! -thanks again!
