zmapper issues

i have created my high poly mesh in zbrush, i go into zmapper and projection and capture current mesh. I then import my low poly mesh and once i press zmapper it asks me to go into polygroups then frame and ctrl shift click to choose my mesh.

Dont know why as its only 1 mesh consisting of 530 poly’s, i then do this anyway to test it and it comes up with error "plugin note:memory could not be allocated subdividlinksquick

it then crashes

Any help appreciated

What are your system specs?

Instead of using ZMapper’s projection feature, have you tried using Tool>SubTool>Project All? Simply append the recipient mesh to the source as a new SubTool. Divide it to have enough polygons, then project. You can then clean up the projection if necessary using the sculpting brushes. (Including the ZProject brush.)

Once you’re happy with the projection, go to level 1 and create your normal map. The nice thing about this technique is that you control the projection. You don’t get that control with ZMapper.
