I have a problem with ZMapper, every time I try to create a normal map for my model, It takes a long time to create normal map and when It does the results are awfull. Can anybody explain to me how to preapare and finally create “normal” normal map???
Start with this: http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/ZMapper
If you continue to have trouble, we’ll need a lot more information. You haven’t told us anything about your settings, shown what problems you’re encountering, or even described it. “The results are awful” doesn’t really tell us anything useful for trying to help you.
These are my settings
, and this is how it’s look like when creating normal map
Any ideas???
Looks like a problem with the UV mapping.
Soooo… how to fix it???
Since AUVTiles and GUVTiles are not conducive to normal mapping, you will need to use another app for this. Here’s a tutorial for one method: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=8558
Thanks on tutorial, I have one more question… I managed to make a normal map but it came out really weird

Help please???
Sorry for double posting
That is clearly a UV mapping problem.
However, since you’re using an Object space map rather than a Tangent space map, you can get away with GUVTiles mapping. (Object space maps aren’t affected by UV seams the way Tangent space maps are.)
Go to level 1 of your model. Apply a blank texture that’s the same size as the map you want to export. Press Tool>Texture>GUVTiles. You can now create your normal map.
Hey, that worked
Thank you on your patience and advices
