Zmapper Help

Hello All,

I have a question for you. For some reason I am having issues with Zmapper in ZB 3.1. I have a model that has four UV sets One for the Head, Body, Arms and accessories. For some reason when I select the UV set for the Head and go into Zmapper the head does not appear. Now if I select a different UV set and go into Zmapper I can see them, but they are not rendering out correctly. It’s as if Zmapper still sees the other UV sets and tries to make maps for the complete model. The Maps are all messed up. Has anybody had this issue? Please help. I need to get this model done.

I tested Zmapper with just a simple piece of geometry and it works just fine. But messes up completely on the model I am working on.

Thanks in advanced.

Brian.

Split the model into subtools rather than just hiding the parts. If it’s already polygrouped based on the UV’s, this is as simple as pressing Tool>SubTool>GrpSplit.

You know I thought of that and I tried it and it still does not work. I am not sure what is going on with this model. Its seems like it has to do with my model not the Zmapper. Could I have done something wrong with my model that would prevent Zmapper from working correctly. I.E having Ngons, or Tris? I have even tried to export out the base level mesh as an obj and imported it into a clean scene and it still does not work. The next thing that I tried was to take the model back into Maya separate out the head and export it out as a separate obj object. That seemed to work but the normal map had a lot of artifacts and issues with it. What could be the problem?

Thanks for helping.

Brian
