Zmapper Crashing

I have a plane with 9 faces, planer mapped in maya. I took it into zbrush, sculpted it, and went to create a normal map. When i clicked Zmapper it gives me a “multiple UV-Regions detected” screen (which was unexpected, id like to cut the problem off there). But to go on, i ewnt thorugh the necessary steps, and when i clicked “create normal map” for a maya tangentspace best quality normal map, it crashed zbrush.

My question is how did hte crash occur, and more importantly how do i avoid these uv regions in the first place(perhaps not a zbrush quesiton)?

the crash occurred because of the UV regions.

to avoid UV regions, unwrap your object and keep it’s UV shells within 0-1 UV space. (typically leave a small “buffer” space as well) Zbrush defaults to a 4 pixel seam border.
