hi.
I have low poly model with UV. And hi-poly - 500K pol with the same UV; i decimated it to 200K, my UV destroyed. And then go to ZMapper with 200K model, where i want to create Projection. I pressed “Capture current mesh”, but nothing happend. The programm typed “Mesh captured successfuly” and that is all, i didn’t see captured normals on model. So when i go to low poly model and press ZMapper i don’t see my hi-poly, which i want to project. :o
you can keep your UV’s before you decimate the mesh.
just turn on Keep UVs then decimate it.
As to projecting from one cage to another inside of Zmapper, I don’t do it. It doesn’t have enough options to allow for the type of control I like to have when I project my normals.
look into xNormal, free and easy to use. It also doesn’t have the polygon limit of Zmapper, and it can also bake multiple textures at the same time. as well as textures from multiple objects.
my 2 cents
ye… thx man.
I just want to see result from ZMapper and XNormal… which is better…
