bro nice creature
great imagination
@DigitalFreaky: ehehe grazie vecchio, guarda che aspetto di vedere qualcosa di superviolento da te ora che andrai a tokyo a poltrire e avrai tempo a bizzeffe
@Pigumon: Well your explanation it’s right as far as you think at good or evil with a human point of view, also because you’re referring to intelligence as a base to understand what’s bad or not.
First I don’t think it’s just a matter of intelligence, but also a cultural point of view understanding what’s bad or not, but this is not really important here for what I want to say and I don’t want to focus on this.
I know that for a human Zenoth’s act is evil, human has coscience, judging is in our nature, we (generally) know what’s good or bad and he’s killing every living things in our planet -> Bad!
But, good and evil are human value, and when we watch some documentaries where a lion kills a gazelle we feel “poor gazelle, bad lion” though we know that this is not evil but just nature. There is no will to kill, just hunger.
So I think about that as a different value system, something we know but we can’t really understand deeply, we cannot feel that, since we’re humans, not animals.
I imagine aliens the same way, they just have a different value system, as a lion cannot understand why we think killing is evil, humans cannot understand why killing every living things in the planet are not evil for Zenoth. This is an alien value system. Maybe the reason for his act is something that in long terms could be good for the universe, not even for his alien species. But what I want to say is that the wrong thing is to think about good or evil, his act is just out of scale for humans because we don’t have an alien thinking.
Alien are alien, unknown, stranger and I’m sure that if you would be in front of Zenoth, watching him killing people around you, you wouldn’t ask yourself “Is it good or bad?” but “how could I survive?” and in the meanwhile you would get eliminated.
About the biological problem linked to our atmosphere, maybe as human can survive some minutes while underwater, he has the same ability about our atmosphere ( his resistence time is enough to do his job of course
).
Why looking at our planet, so different from jupiter? I don’t know, maybe they don’t need it for living on…
Thanks to everyone guys, I’m so happy about all positive feedback!

This is stunningly beautiful work. You are indeed a master of both the technical and the aesthetic, with incredible imagination as well. The texturing and colours are so inventive, and the concept of not being able to communicate with him is brilliant.
My god, I keep finding exceptional artists here, it’s inspiring and intimidating at the same time! Surely there is the making of a new golden age of art right here on this site! Being able to use Maya or ZBrush is just a technical skill, like being able to use a brush or a piano. Possessing the drive, the imagination, the intelligence and the love required to produce great art simply for its own sake is another thing altogether, and a place like this which brings so many like-minded people together to share ideas, skills, tools and advice - even though it doesn’t physically exist - is the analog of the cafes of 19th century Paris or the Bottegas of 15th century Florence.
The outside world cannot fail to notice the sheer volume and quality of imaginative beauty being produced here, and will make of it what it will. Where it leads is for the future, but the present is looking magnificent, and work like this must reach, influence, and eventually change the world.
Congratulations on being one of the early masters in this new age, and long live Zenoth!
veramente bello… great sculpt
Stunning design, clean & detailed model…
BYe
great job my friend!
5 stars from me

love the modeling and the textures!! great work!
Hey great work. Why topo gun and not zbrush for the retopology?
Hi there, sorry but I’ve been a little busy in the last days!
@slashpot: Many thanks man, altough I hardly see myself as a “master” or as an “artist”… It’s so difficult to define what is art or who is an artist to me, for now I just think to myself as a generalist specialized in modeling and sculpting…definitely I try to push my skills and learn from the art masters from the past but the chasm between my “artwork” and those masterpiece is huge, not just technically but especially in the message and purpose I think.
Here in ZBC there is plenty of good works and people who look at sculpting as a way to express themselves and technically being very close to what I can call a sculptor (Patroc, Selwy, Scott Eaton, Antropus just for name the ones that comes to my mind first). As you said there is a combination of factor that makes you read their models in a special way that go beyond the mesh itsef, and this is really close to what happens to me while looking at those incredible statues in the museums. Through the sculpture, in the gestures, in little detials, in almost imperceptible curvature changing…in all this you can read a message, a statement, a way to talk to you.
This is a very fascinating, complex and interesting talk also because you miss an important piece in your vision: the work and the patrons :).
But I think this talk itself could fill a whole forum of ideas just because there is so many different point of view…
The good thing is that thankfully place like ZBC exists and the chance to get connected all over the world is priceless.
Thanks again!
@designingpatrick: I find Zbrush retopology being very good, I used it for different works before this project and it works just fine. I heard people talking very well about Topogun and so I tried out myself. You have a feeling to be in a modeling app and you have less “clicks” compared to zb so I find it faster. In addition you have some standard modeling tool like ring connect, bridge, relax…usefull tools in the retopology process. In the other hand zb retopology workflow is very smooth being integrated in the app.
Many thanks to everyone
