Zeeble or Greeble that is here the Question!

I used this tutorial to make an image that’ll serve as a visual aid for a speech I’m giving over nanotechnology in my communications class. Just thought I’d post it here and give a huge thanks for the excellent and concise tutorial.

Basically all the image is trying to show is how small we can expect our personal computers to be in the future due to the influence of nanotechnology. I used the image as part of a faux computer magazine ad and dubbed the machine the ‘icube’. This is my first real image made using 3d and any C&C are welcome.

Thanks all.

PS:Spaceman, you just invented recursive Zeebling. Who needs Fractals:D

 thanks lemonnado - you the master of zeebleing the zeeble

BTW the way what fonts are best to use for zeebeing

The best fonts are the ones with the least curves. Blocky looking fonts work well as they do not introduce to many jitters. In the end we pull/push polygons, so if those are in a straight line… that’s the clearest result.

I tried creating edge loops to help make the jitters less. It helped on the raised surface, but not on the protruding walls.

Only resolution is your friend there… Heavy meshes… It also has to be noted that the ‘Size’ deformer only works well on spherical objects as the direction follows the surface normals. Planar objects are best treated with a single large inflate deformer application. A second inflate also inflates the previous result and makes it look 'fuzzy/bulky. When the size deformer is tried on a masked plane it is instantly obvious… It simply does not work as expected.

wow … cool one

Can u post the texture u used?

I came across this post by jantim and thought it might be a cool process for materials for zeebles
http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showpost.php?p=259747&postcount=92

Those using the process jantim’s describes on zeebles post the results.

I used the same techniques to do these…Lemonnado is making quite
an impact.I used textures off the net to mask all of them.

Woaaaaaaa! Super Cool David! The first Chain Ball is stunning… The slime ball is verrrry creepy. The person rising of the ground is a great idea to! The last one looks really cool as well. The metal grate is superb and the effect of the frozen/suspended woman is great to!

For those who might want to make zeeble 3d backgrounds Jason Belec has posted some concepts for 3d backgrounds here

Look what they found in a recent archeological dig in Egypt…seems these old Egypteans knew how to “zeeble” and “greeble” …there is even a theory from a Erich von D. that alien technologie is used…

lemonnado the zeeble-er:cool:

I have seen where zmodels have been placed within another zmodel - like pride’s lady in the tube - can you place the same model within itself?
:b2: here’s an image

 I guess it’s transparent - tried to upload image many times - try later - keeps breaking connection

hey jantim could you post your material and your light settings you used for those pictures above they are great i like the shading please it would mean alot for all us inspiring artists thank you!

The Zenterprise and a sphere ship using just the default greeble texture thing and then inversing it and using again for complexity. Also a scene using both. The torus ship was made the same.
