ZBrush4?

I for one dont expect much, im getting ready for a disspointment ( Not for the softwere since z3 is enough to make anything if you want, but for taking the next step). I thnik they reached the limit with this engine and interface. Sure they may add mulyiple texture leyers, better retopo tools, but not much more. I doubt they would start from scrach and release it without prewievs at lest a year earlier ;]

Somehow I feel that ZB4 will be the mark where it will really use the 64bit capability to its fullest. Meaning higher crazier performance with 64bit system. Now that will trash mudbox 2009 so called 30 million polys capability.

well, we’ll see. However even enhancing greatly what ZB has at its disposal now could be good. painting system, for example. A real big big step ahead would be enhancing the rendering engine , and maybe to bring the app even towards character animation, but since this requires a fully 3d engine, requires weighting and IK, and there are other fantastic solutions in the market yet, i think its a kinda of a dream.

also was thinking: what now is a plugin could be integrated/extended into several ways within the app.

Looking forward to seeing ZB4! :+1:

I look forward to seeing Zbrush 1, 2 & 3…

…working, properly.

Wow, I just spotted this!

Thankyou Pixologic, that is most generous!
Every year that goes by, I become more and more pleased I own a ZBrush licence :+1:

Regards new features, I’m hoping we’ll be able to paint accross multiple textures as I think that’s one of the biggest showstoppers in ZBrush right now. It just feels odd that such a program can’t do this at the moment.

Oh yes, I’ve really got my fingers crossed for that one :sunglasses:

YAY! I just hope its more MAC compatible… please!! let us have zmapper, zapplink and image plane! that would be really nice!

I second all the plugins we mac users don’t have. I would be pleased with just that.
I guess I’m easily pleased…

Mac users don’t need zmapper. I think it might be going away for for Windoze users also.

I agree. It appears that Zmapper will become extinct soon. :+1:

And as for the release date, Apple is supposed to release Snow Leopard (64 bit) in August too. Wonder if the timing is planned also for Siggraph?

wow wow,
that was a hell of a read…

all I can say is I’m looking forward to the new version, when ever it shows up.

I know I’ll have only probed the surface of what ZB is capable of so the new version will just be one more thing i have to learn about, and thats a bit exciting.

Take the free upgrade for what it is. appreciation for a growing, involved, and insainly talented client base. and let face it the more people you have using your product the more market saturation.

The people behind zbrush have been nothing but suportive and amazingly helpfull. The interest in my workflow that they have shown has blown me away, and the input they took from the beta testers for the new plugins show they are paying attention to what we ask for.

I’m a bit amazed at the emotional out pouring because of a wise business decision.

my two cents…
