Zbrush3.5 to Maya 2009--rendering normal maps

I have a human model with 2 UV groups. I have the displacement maps connected and working, but only one normal map works. Each one is connected the same way: out alpha to value of bump node and Tangent Space Normals selected. It seems connection should be out color, but that option is not available.

Do normal maps only function with one UV group? Any suggestions?

no, you must use polygroup>uv group to make a polygroup base on your uv group. then generate your normal map by selecting your mesh that is based on your UV Group and hide the other group. after that do the same at the rest of your group.

Yes, I did that. The 2 normal maps I generated look fine actually. I believe the problem is with the rendering.

I have found a lot of threads on the problems. I am hoping somebody out there has a good solution for rendering normal maps in Maya.
