Zbrush - Wacom Touch Ring setup

I haven’t tried this on snow leopard yet, but will load it in the next few days to take a look. Is it in the wacom control panel that it won’t store the keyboard commands or is it in zbrush that the keystroke doesn’t get saved?

My guess is a Wacom driver issue rather than a zbrush issue - like I said I ran into some issues with the current driver on Leopard as well, which has yet to be fixed, and it doesn’t look like there is a new specific driver for SL yet…

I’ll let you know what I find though once I convert my machine over.

Josh

Hey Josh

I think the problem is in the wacom control maybe,
but it saves the keystrokes fine, but they dont have any effect

on the Intuos 4 you can see the shortcuts you make,in the
displays ,but in zbrush they wont work either…

i dont have any problems in maya or photoshop

wierd stuff
Dont know if its a 32 bit / 64 bit problem with the wacom drivers

jblazer-thanks for script works great in zbrush 3.5 for me:)

Hi, arsan can you please tell how you get this to work on 3.5 I’ve been trying without success for days, thanks

Hmm,I didn’t do nothing special to make it work with 3.5.Just copy zscript to zbrush/zstartup/zplugs folder. Then I set new shortcut keys in plugin options(they were all “[ ]” set by default). Finally I made new shortcut setup in wacom properties-functions/touch ring-just use the same keys which I set in zbrush before:)

Thank you for your answer arsan I did as you told and now i can change the focal shift. draw size etc… with the touch ring sorry for taking so long to say thanks but I couldn’t remember my pass for this account, I had to retrive it from my old computer HDD Nany thanks

Thanks Marcus and jblazer.
Works great…fantastic resource!!!

thansk alot! but a quick question how do you change the short keys ([ ]) in the plug-in options? I cant see how to do it

To assign a hotkey or a new hotkey just [ctrl]-click on any button, menu or brush, then assign it a keystroke…

thanks dewdle!

As the title says, thanks a lot jblazer, you totally da man, been trying out the script and have to say its the best thing since sliced bread, nope, its even better :D:D:D

no more zBrush sliders for me wooooohooooo

Hey, JBlazer, this is what I’ve been looking for! But I have a small problem with the script. The Z Intensity and RGB buttons seem to do the same thing? I tried assigning different hotkeys to all of the buttons, but the RGB and Z Intensity sliders are just tied together, they go up and down simultaneously. This isn’t actually a huge problem, but it’s still a little wierd. Anyway, thanks for sharing this great script!

Oh, never mind. It stopped happening after I initialized Zbrush.

Hi guys

Who teach me about to instaler the plugin?

I don’t understand very much English.

I want to know how active “brush size” and more fuctions with my Touch Ring

2 hours and still nothing :frowning:
Wacom-up-down.zsc is in zplug folder (thanks to Jblazer!)
I assign hotkeys
I config the touch ring of my wacom intuos 4 wireless
Result:
On my wacom tablet only the first point light is lighting even when I clic on the center button of the touch ring … but obviously when I clci on this button I go through the four config (brush size, Z intensity, RGB intensity, Focal size).
On Zbrush the brush size it works but not really fluent. the Z intensity crease and decrease only around 10 (-9 and -16!) … don’t know why. RGB intensity and focal size Don’t work at all…

I’m really surprise that Zbrush or Wacom never did something to clear this problem and give to customer something that work!
Why didn’t they give us some preset for zbrush, photoshop, maya,… The wacom tablet is a so powerfull stuff, and expensive…

Hello. First post here.

Just picked up an Intuos4. I can adjust the brush size just fine with the touch ring, but cannot zoom or rotate the canvas. I can, however, zoom in both Sculptris and Photoshop, so it’s definitely a ZBrush compatibility issue.

Can someone possibly help me?

Hello. I have been using an intuos 4 with zbrush 4R2 for awhile now with no problems. I was able to change brush sizes using the default brush size button on the touch ring. After going to 4R2b, it no longer works. It still shows the [ & ] in the keystrokes for brush size, but it stopped working. Can anyone give me a hand with this? Thanks very much!

I am lost I have no idea what a macro is and no idea on how to write computer code like Objective-C, C++ or any other such coding one would have to know to fix this problem. The problem is simple on an Intuos 4 I would like to get the touch ring to work making the size of my brush larger or smaller. Hot key don’t seem to do the trick under Zplugin>Misc Utilities <<Brush>> something is getting lost between the Wacom Tablet in System Preferences (MAC) and Zbrush. What I am getting is a flickering like it wants to work but can’t. “Am I losing my mind or is this a bug” would be my first question? Do any of you find a way to get this to work and if so could you please explain in simple english how you did it?

Grrrrrrrrrr!!!

I am having exactly the same problem as Tatge. Strange thing for me is that I had the problem with 4R2, but then one day it went away. The problem is now back since going to 4R2b. It is very frustrating because I am now so used to using the ring to adjust size.

Hey Tatge… I got mine working just now based on input from another thread. All I did was re-assign the [ & ] keys to draw size by “customizing” them. If you don’t know how, this is Marcus_ Civis’ post on the other thread:

You can find the Brush size buttons, labelled <<Brush and Brush>> in the ZPlugin>Misc Utilities menu. Ctrl+Alt+click on a button and then press the relevant hotkey (e.g. [ for <<Brush). Repeat for the other button, then press Preferences>Hotkeys>Store to make sure the hotkeys will be available each time you start ZBrush.

I don’t understand why it work seeing as the [ and the ] were the default hot keys, but re-assigning them worked for me. Good luck. Let us know if it works for you.
