Zbrush Vs windows 7 64 bit issue (solved!)

I posted a ticket already, but I’ve already set the appliction to run as admin, updated the c++ libs, and mande the change in the trouble folder in the install, and I still can’t launch zb3.5 r3.

It worked fine under vista, but after upgrading to windows 7, no love at all.

(I’m getting the side by side application error.)

I also followed the knowledgebase advise when I posted the ticket as well.

Looks like I couldn’t deactivate it through the program, so I requested a de activation… I cleaned out all folders, and did a clean reinstall… I can launch it now, and get the activation screen on startup… now I just need to wait for them to deactivate it, so I can have the clean install activated.

Hey Gareee ,

I have the same issue as you had .
I install windows 7 on my computer today and got an error at the initial step
" sorry , incorrect file permission detected . please lunch zbrush As administrator "
can you tell me please what i need to do in order to fix this problem ?
how can i update my c+++ libs ? how to set the appliction to run as admin ?

thanks

Browse to your 3.5 R3 folder. Right-click on ZBrush and choose Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab. At the bottom of that tab, turn on the Run as Administrator check box, then click Apply.

You’ll now be able to run ZBrush.

Also, in the zbrush install folder, you’ll see a help folder with installers… you need the 32 bit c++ libs as well as the 64 bit ones installed.

You can deactivaste through support here, and then follow the activation in zb3.5 itself.

thank you Aurick ! the problem solved ! :+1:

Gareee - thank you buddy for the comment !

zbrush running as usuall !

happy zbrushing

Something I ran into right away… you neeed to change the skinning preview following the sculpting tutorial, otherwise the magents do not function properly… also they are really intended to use once you have an actual mesh, not the simulated preview one, I think.

actually i thought at first zbrush run as usual … but after restart my system
i tend to reload zbrush again but it refuse to open .

try to follow by your advice and go to Trouble Shoot Help folder
and follow by the guide there .
install the missing file vcredist_x86_VS2008_sp1
and change the settings in my computer at the tab of Data Execution Prevention .
but still zbrush can’t load …
at first its open and then i hear an error but i can see what is the problem .
zbrush automatically minimize herself .
