Zbrush -> Vray for Max displacement help?

Hello everyone! I’ve recently needed to export my Zbrush for rendering in Vray. It’s something I’ve avoided doing for a while because every attempt ends up terrible. This time I used this tutorial: http://www.cggallery.com/tutorials/displacement/ but have yet to achieve the result I’m after.
In Vray, the details fade away regardless of the lighting, and the render time for the displacement is horrendous. Am I doing something wrong? I’m also using a standard Vraymtl with VrayDirt(AO) applied. The only maps applied are displacement, as the tutorial says that nothing else should be required to achieve an accurate result.

I will include a picture from the Zbrush viewport and one from a quick Vray render. If anyone has any tips on how I can make the creases and cavities “pop” in Vray I would be very greatful!

Thanks

Hey! Yes, I forgot to mention, I’m using a modifier called VrayDisplacementMod that’s supposed to be appropriate for highly detailed Vray displacement renders.

hey can u show how your model without disp looks? actually i think the render looks nice. all the little bumps are there right?
