ZBrush UI became blurry after the 2022 to 2023 update? (MacOS 13.2)

Not sure how else to explain it than that, it’s not the document and its resolution, it’s the whole app UI itself, as in the buttons and text. Mac’s retina display in 2022 looked crisp, but now it seems as if the resolution was not set correctly. Attaching images comparing the before and after. Does anyone have any clue how to fix this?

Hi @derailed3d ,

We are currently investigating the difference in the way macOS is rendering the type library used in ZBrush 2023. The next update for ZBrush 2023 should significantly improve the appearance of the text, but differences will still be apparent. The investigation is ongoing.

Thank you!

I think you just have to make sure in Nvidia setting you’ve enabled Graphics card whichever GTX you’ve which is by default auto recommended as Physx settings. Doing that alone solved my issue.

I don’t believe I have the option on the M2 macs, as they run native apple silicon

Any updates regarding this matter?
2023 1.1 is unusable for me.
The blurriness and flickering is way too distracting.
I own 2022, but I paid for the subscription to take advantage of the new features and support of apple silicon and haven’t been able to use it.

I feel the same, I have just upgraded from Core to full zbrush and im running it on a 16inch m2 Max with 64gb ram.

It is impossible to look at the interface for more than a few mins before I start getting a head ache because the UI interface keeps flickering between lower and higher resolution every 3 secs!

What do I do? Ask for a refund?

is this being looked into at all?
I still can’t use 2023, even after the most recent patch. also did a clean install, no change.
on a Mac M2.
tried opening Zbrush in Rosetta, still no change.
the whole ui flickers every 2-3 seconds. it’s crisp for a second or so, then goes blurry for a second or so. it goes back and forth as shown as in the images above.
doesn’t matter if it’s in full screen mode or windowed mode. happens in both circumstances.
happens on both a 2k monitor and a 4k.
happens on all resolution settings for either monitor.
it’s been 4 months now that I’ve been paying for Zbrush and not being able to use it.
no other program or app does this. not Maya, not rhino, blender or any other app of any kind.
