zbrush trial .zpr and .zbr problems

i a running the zbrush 4 trial on a macbook pro.

i open a .obj file in my zbrush trial, and when i’m done working with it for the day, i save it as a .zpr or .zbr (i still don’t know the difference between the two, so i tried them both out), and then when i come back later to work on the files and zbrush can’t open them.

.zpr files can’t be dropped on the application logo, can’t be right-clicked and told to open with the application (zbrush app is grayed out).

.zbr files act like they will open, but then come up with an error message that says that zbrush can’t open them.

anyone know what my major malfunction is, whether user, application, or OS?

thanks. aaron.

.zbr is a Zbrush document. It only saves 2.5d canvas information, lighting, and material info. No 3d objects are saved. It opens via the Document>Open menu.

.zpr is a Zproject, saves all lighting and material information, and any 3d tools loaded. It basically saves everything. It opens via the File>Open menu.

.ztl, saved and loaded from the Tool menu, saves a single 3d mesh and its subtools.

Just making sure you understand the difference, so you can see if you still have a problem.

It’s best to open files from within ZBrush, especially with the trial version which will need to verify the trial time remaining.
