Zbrush to Poser

Hey all, thanks advance for your help.

I have a client who wants me to take a Poser 12 character, remove the head, place a celebs head on it that I will sculpt, and then send it back to Poser. I asked him to hold off till I was sure this was possible.

I know I can export/import .obj both ways, and I’m assuming that I can use normal and displacement maps, but will this go at all smoothly?

I have Poser, but I ended up not using it much.

Thanks guys.

4R4 has a feature to bridge two meshes together. Just leave a gap in your head creation so that ZBrush will be able to construct the necessary polygons. As for once you get back into Poser, I assume you’re going to want to keep the original figure’s morphs and rigging. That means you’ll want to make a dial to replace the head with your new heads. I know that’s possible, but couldn’t tell you how.

Honestly, you would probably be better keeping the original head and just resculpt/re-texture it.

Of course, you need to be wary of copyrights. If the client doesn’t already own the rights to the body mesh, you can’t sell it to them.

Thanks Aurick. That helps a lot.
