zbrush to keyshot polygroups

hey guys, is there a way for keyshot to recognize polygroups of a subtool?
Im trying out the zbrush to keyshot bridge and was hoping to assign different materials to different polygroups of a single subtool. so far haven’t found a way to make that work… only way i’ve found is by splitting the single subtool into multiple subtools based on the polygroups.
i’ve seen ppl say you can do it by assigning different materials in zbrush to the polygroups before sending to keyshot, but doesn’t seem like an efficient way.

thx in advance!

also is it possible to load back all the material changes you’ve done the next time after closing Zbrush and keyshot?
from testing right now… closing zbrush and keyshot… then reopening the ztl and sending it to keyshot… all the keyshot material work i’ve done previously are gone

You can assign colours to the groups in ZBrush, then in Keyshot drag & drop your materials to the different colour groups. That has been a way to do it in Keyshot since before we got the Bridge.

About the material changes, currently the best thing to do is save the Keyshot scene and when you reopen it the changes you made will be there.

Thanks Dillster!
I’ll try out saving the keyshot scene and see if restarting both keyshot and zbrush can bring back all keyshot material work that i’ve done.
currently what i do get back the keyshot material is by saving material templates in keyshot… so that when i send stuff over from zbrush again, all i need to do is apply the template and all materials should load back (subtool names will need be the same)

assigning colors to different parts of the subtool doesn’t seem to be working for me. keyshot still only recognizes the subtool as 1 object. So far only painting different materials onto the 1 subtool works for keyshot to recognize polygroups.
there must be a easier way for keyshot to recognize polygroups right?
