ZBrush to Adobe Pre. Pro

Hello ZBrush Community!

I’m needing some help? I’m looking to render one of my models in ZBrush using the Movie timeline so that I can make my turntable a lot more interesting… then taking it to Adobe Premiere Pro for editing.

I’ve been playing around with different document sizes, anti-aliasing the window size then exporting out of Zbrush. When importing to A.P.P I don’t seem to be getting the crispness I’m wanting.

If anyone could help me out with what document size and the video format they used when exporting and importing i would be entirely grateful.

Cheers

Wyatt

Hi there,

it’s a question of compression.
Try “Photo JPEG” for compression.
Quality >98%

This will end in a pretty big but high quality file which you can reuse in your projects.

I hadn’t the chance to play around a lot, but this was working pretty well for me.
My monitors are just 1600x1200. For my tests I maximized one.
I am using Vegas Pro even though Adobe Premium Production including Premiere is installed.
Vegas is simply “human”.
Can’t help you there.

Hi Knacki,

Thanks for you help, didn’t realize you can export video using a “Photo Jpeg” format. I gave it a try and as you say it’s crisp!

I think my problem with Adobe Premiere Pro is I have to take into consideration the pixolation ratios 1920x1080 (1.0).

I’m not sure if I can set this within ZBrush, maybe it comes down too the document window size!

Thanks again for your help, I will have a play around and see what works.

Cheers

Great I could help.
Would be nice to hear about your progress. Because I am also at the beginning. Maybe some more experienced users could help too?

I recorded a little macro i.e. where all settings to record a movie set to what I want.
No logo, no overlay (should be switched off by default anyway) FPS to 25, Frame Size to 1.

Do you know that frame size is put to 0,5 by default? This means half resolution. (If you choose “Large” it will be switched to 1)
You will find this here:

I don’t know about turntables so far.

As far as I know - I don’t know much  - The document palette is basic for static pictures.

The Movie Palette is the one we need:

I could be wrong - but that’s how I understand the different palettes.

EDIT: Ahhh - I see in the document palette you can adjust the canvas size. Will this be the movie size?

Sorry If I told you something you already know.

Hi Knacki

I’ve been trying out a few options, from what I can gather. Is that, in ZBrush I set tha Document size under document the size I’m wanting being that (720x576, 1440x180 or 1920 x1080).

Size up my model to the right proportion I’m requiring in the Window, set the Key frames on the Timeline to how I want the movie to look. Record the movie, before i export I click on the AAHalf button (same procedure when rendering a single frame) to antialiase the model.

When exporting it’s the compression formats that I’m playing around with, as I’m still trying to get the exact same pixel aspect ratio to match up with Adobe’s.

Thanks for all the help I really do appreciate you taking the time out to help me.

Cheers
