Ok so i have only just recently started using zbrush, now i have figured out a lot of stuff by myself, i see a lot of people use maya for this type of stuff, but im very confident with 3dsmax, and i was wondering how do i get the rich detail of zbrush into max, now i know you use displacement maps which i have rendered out i also have a color map, now im trying to get that into max so i can make a scene out of it, at the moment im using mental ray connection, unlocked the displacement map, then added a 3d max dispacement map then added my displacement map. now i have played with the settings and the best i got was a little bit of the detail, the rest isnt showing. any help will be appreciated.
hello nexusbird, what you have to do is make de displacement map in zbrush, then in max in the bump you put normal bump at 100% and thats is all, all that you do in the material editor, it doesn´t matter is mental or vray i think…i hope than this help you…
