1.when your watching the live stream you can press the LIVE button and whatever you have watched is still in the cache so you can rewind it as it turns into a DVR button.

2.Record the session you’re interested in and upload to youtube - like it did!

I’m aware that Siggraph is on over the next couple of days and any release dates for new software updates are usually announced at these trade events. So I think we’ll know by the end of the week.

Me too I use Modo so me too I’d love to see a better integration between both softwares. And me too I have questions about Keyshot. Mainly because to me, ZBrush, is an object maker. And these objects you bring together in a scene. That has to be rendered.
The Keyshot version that equals the HD version, is not only limited in render output size but also in options. So my idea is that they want this new market to upgrade. Which is, my idea, in these days of Octane, Indigo etc way too expensive.

I am not suggesting the results are not good. Far from. And if you want to present your ZBrush objects online, it’ll be difficult to get any better. That clay shader is really very realistic. And the integration with ZBrush is something one can only wish for.
But because it is 1/ limited to the Keyshot-ZBrush bridge and cannot work with anything else, and 2/ limited to a web output - it is too small for print except large postcards - I can, despite the high-quality it delivers, not be very enthusiastic about it.

Luckily I can be more than happy with what 4.7 brings us.

Is this Zbrush version of Keyshot limited like the HD version which is ‘4.1 megapixel offline rendering resolution’ ?

I have Octane renderer for Modo, Vray for Modo is also around the corner. I see Keyshot as expensive previewer becouse for that price render resolution should be unlimited. If its final tool for rendering so resolution should be larger. Import may be banned but resolution should be raised to be actual renderer in other case its only previewer with big library of materials. Ill buy it but I prefer to see something about bridge with Modo/Marmoset Toolbag/Octane Render becouse there will be unlimited resolution and its not be needed to build up whole shader materials stack from a scratch. That is my opinion. Anyway I`ll buy it becouse I need better/faster/almost real time Zbrush previewer :slight_smile: and becouse I have to not becouse I want :wink: (I have no other choice).

Edit: There is also one more reason to buy something from Pixologic - free update :slight_smile: Thanks Pixologic again.

I wanted to buy modo (+ Meshfusion) really soon, because i thought it would be a perfect combo with ZBrush.
ZBrush + Modo + a later V-Ray sounded like the best solution to earn some jewels with a limited budget.
As i heard about Keyshot solely for ZB + the new ZB modelling tools would have made Modo a bit inferior for me,
if ZB-Keyshot will render in a limited resolution, its now really useless for my purposes. So bad, i would not spend a thousand bucks for a full version of some Material Previewer.

sorry if this has been asked, but does anyone know if there will be online videos posted for the event for those of us who couldn’t catch much of the live stream but are super eager to learn from the industry talks that happened?

This weekend I was very impressed with everything. The art was astounding! My mind exploded so many times with all the possibilities. And every presenter was so helpful explaining their techniques. ZBrush 4R7 … well most superlative adjectives just doesn’t do justice to the power and flexibility that awaits us. I am replaying the demos on YouTube and showing them to all my friends at work.
That said, I bought Modo about 3 months ago and have been learning it mostly by going through Peter Stammbach’s incredible tutorials on YouTube. I have learned a lot already following Peter-a great mind at work there. I now know (a bit) about loops and bevels and subDs, etc. so I am super excited to see that 4R7 will allow us to do polygonal modeling in ZBrush like never before. Mr. Drust and Mr. Gabouryl–thank you for the shows.
I guess I will call Luxion directly to get answers to my Keyshot questions as to render sizes. I also will mention here that the higher-end version of Keyshot allows for making an alpha mask pass and a clown pass and even allows render layers that my student version won’t allow me to do. I wonder what exactly this ZB version will allow?

I do understand marketing a bit, but just that same, as a consumer I like to know what I’m getting when I buy a product–when it comes to Keyshot I hope the folks at Luxion describe exactly what we will be able to get, and do, in this new offer… as well as explain if there is an upgrade path to a higher-pixel-count-output-version with all the bells and whistles (if that is necessary) – and what that means in $.

As much as I admire the new clay looks and the convenience of close integration with ZBrush, I do want to know all the facts.
That’s all I’m asking. As to ZBrush and its continual advancements and rich inventive environment – I am profoundly in awe and am so happy I made the decision to make that my main program and focus. Hats off to Pixologic!

My understanding is that this version of KeyShot is a full version, but geared towards interactivity with ZBrush. What some see from the demonstrations is KeyShot’s real time renderer, but you can tweek the lens settings and resolution for higher res and an even cleaner accurate render. It just takes more time to render with high quality, hi res settings. The benefit of KeyShot is it’s speed and on the fly results. Don’t underestimate it’s power because it uses your core processors and the more you have the faster the results.

I second that emotion. I tried GoZ’ing to Modo, and never got good results.

GoZ to Poser or Daz Studio works fine though.

I hope Zbrush and Modo talk to each other more easily with 4R7, buy if they don’t…I don’t mind so much,
since many of the features I like to switch to Modo for are in 4R7. Everybody happy, happy, happy!

I hope thats the case, because Modo is currently 40% discounted (yeeaaa) and the money i save there directly goes to Keyshot. If thats not the Case, and/or the HD Version with limited Resolution, i will invest it in other renderer.

By the way, yes there is a Pro version of Keyshot that has unlimited resolution and animation. But it costs $2000.

Just heard back from Marmoset Toolbag about render output and how it renders. Here is his answer to me:

Toolbag 2 is a GPU-based renderer, and when it comes to output resolution it has no strict resolution limit. The output options in Toolbag 2 will present several common resolution presets supported by your graphics card/processor, but also offers custom resolutions to be entered manually. In fact you will probably run into file type resolution limits before you run into any hardware limits. For example .tga I believe has a resolution limit of 65k x 65k.

So is it standard policy to keep these live streaming events live only? I haven’t seen any mention of whether the videos will be posted somewhere or if we’re out of luck if we couldn’t watch the live event. That would be so disappointing…
