Zbrush reorders UV's - Max 2012 - Answered

Having a Max issue with Zbrush. Zbrush will reorder UV’s of mesh’s I bring in from Max. Now before anyone asks what my .obj exp settings are, they are correct. Ive used the same settings since 2009 and they have always worked up till 2012. This appears to be a Max 2012 thing. Any ideas. XSI exported obj’s always work.

This actually sounds like it’s not ZBrush that’s doing the reordering, but rather Max. After all, if the same settings work fine with earlier versions but not with 2012, then the only thing that has changed is Max.

A couple questions that might help Max users find the right answer for you, though:

  1. Which version of ZBrush are you using?
  2. Are you using GoZ? It is included with ZBrush 4R2 and supports Max 2012. So it should handle the settings for you automatically. If you’re having this same problem even though you’re using GoZ for 4R2 then what you should do is submit a Support ticket with the relevant information so that our development team can see what needs changing.

Aurick, I absolutely agree that this is for sure a Max issue. Im using Zbrush 4 for the time being till Im wrapping this project and Im not using GoZ. Ill look into a support ticket as soon as I can.

A support ticket won’t do any good in this case because it IS a Max issue.

Unless you meant a ticket with Autodesk?
